This is a feature that should have come standard from HJC, but cost savings help HJC meet their price point I guessChin curtains can help minimally with cold, but that is not the pointThe breath guard is intended to prevent fogging, and a pinlock insert can be added if fogging is a serious issue for you.Chin curtains are meant to cut down on wind noise, but mostly to prevent air/dirt/bikes from entering the helmet and messing with your eyesThis chin curtain does exactly thatIt is not uncomfortable, but is very functionalInstall is not necessarily hard, but it does require some effort.Because the helmet did not come standard with it, you need to loosen the glue around the edge to allow to hard "blade" of the chin curtain to slide into the helmet frame.Make sure to push it in centered the first time, and make sure to push the "blade" all the way down to flush with the edge seal.The beauty is that you have to install it only once, so this is not an issueGet yourself one and you will love it

This is a good helmet for the price, but beware that there is a lot of wind noise. I think that could easily be fixed if they had designed the helmet with a chin screen, but just be aware that you may want ear plugs with it.

Didn’t care for the chin curtain at all it was just an open mesh system doesn’t block any noise I can see how it might be OK for fogging but nothing else

UPDATE 5/17: 3 stars instead of 4. My helmet fits well but is ridiculously noisy. This chin curtain helps with some of the wind but it would be much better if it was even larger and not mesh (good for airflow but bad for noise).ORIGINAL 3/17: Difficult to install as it is not intuitive. Works well but can come out easily when taking your helmet off. For the price I paid I'm pretty happy with the purchase but do wish it was more permanent.

This chin curtain works for the C70 as well as the is-17. This is a Must-Have for fall and winter riding!! It decreases The wind by maybe 40%. This makes a huge difference! It took me about 10 minutes to put it in. However, once it is in, it is very solid and will not come out on its own. You have to work it in as the helmet was not made for chin curtains. Once you get the front of it in the rest of it slides in easily.
