(Heads up, this is a long-ish review)Wow. So I absolutely love my new case. Let me start by saying I did not receive a discount to review this item on Amazon. However, I felt the need to post a review on Amazon since there aren't very many and I would have purchased this sooner if I had seen the details here first.I've been in the world of Otterbox for years and, while my Defender provided great protection against everything from my dogs knocking it off the bed onto the hardwood floor to my toddler dropping it constantly in Walmart, I was finally ready to step away from that clunky, rugged look and acquire a more "elegant" case for my recently upgraded iPhone 7.I spent hours (hours, seriously) searching on Google, Amazon, and everywhere in between before I came across this on the Case-mate website. I immediately loved the look of the sparkling crystals but that wasn't enough to sell me on it. I knew I needed something strong (because of the aforementioned dogs and toddler) but wasn't sure that there was a case available that could provide both protection and beauty simultaneously. After watching plenty of unboxing videos on YouTube, reading reviews on as many websites as I could find, and googling "MIL-STD-810G drop test standards" I took the plunge.I am so glad I went for it. This case does not disappoint. Not in the slightest. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous but it is heavy! Now, I've read the reviews and I understand that a heavy case isn't something that everyone wants but it's perfect for me. I needed something substantial enough to take away that slick (aka easy-to-forget-you're-holding-it-and-drop-it) airiness of the iPhone 7 and this works while also shining dramatically in the sun - and streetlights. I feel confident that it will provide enough protection for my brand new phone. There is an inner shock absorbent silicone type layer and the heavier outer layer fits snugly over it. There's a full bumper around the face of the phone as well. All buttons/ports are fully accessible with no problems.I paired this with a tempered glass screen protector to add even more protection and peace of mind (remember, I'm used to the built in protection of the Otterbox Defender). I tried to take pictures to capture the shine but they do it No justice. So far, I have no regrets whatsoever. First, it is possible that Amazon unintentionally sent me a fake case, because I've used Case-Mate covers for years exclusively for their quality. I say "unintentionally" because the order was fulfilled by Amazon (FBA), which I've never had any issue with. In fact, I'll always choose an FBA item over another seller. Hopefully this was a one-time error, because in pictures the case looks beautiful.The case arrived, but upon opening it I discovered it was for an iPhone 6 or 7, not 7 Plus like I ordered. This didn't matter, however, because the case was scratched and didn't resemble the photos nor the description of the product. The "stones" on it were a cheap plastic material that had very little sparkle unless next to a bright window, and it was very light in weight. I paid $80 for this case, but what I received was worth maybe $5. I'm returning it immediately and ordering the Kate Spade Exposed Glitter (Rose Gold) case instead, switching from Case-Mate for the first time in many years.

I felt I needed to post a review given the recent surge of bad reviews for this case. I purchased this case through Amazon so that it would hopefully minimize the chance of getting a knock off. I believe I received the real case and have had it for over a month and half; used it with my iPhone 6+ and IPhone 7+. No issues with covering the flash on either phones and there's no issue with taking the case on and off. Simple and straight forward. Minor draw back (for me it's minor but could be an issue for others) is that it's fairly heavy (especially compared to the weight of the phone). The reason I'm knocking a star is that I've noticed some of the "bedazzle" or whatever it's called, are starting to fall off. I have dropped the phone twice so it could have been incurred because of being dropped (however given their claim of "810G", the shock was significantly less than the spec). Anyways, heavy sturdy case with fluffy bling; so far it works for me :).

Bought this for my mom. She was looking for a stylish case that would also protect her phone. This one does look pretty, but it's really rough and hard to hold on to. That's fine; she got used to it. However, after only owning it for a couple months, at least 10 jewels have fallen off (and it looks really bad). Basically, wherever you grip the phone, the jewels will start to come loose. So, she has two big holes on the back of her case now. It's really noticeable. I'm going to try to help her replace it, but I would highly recommend you don't buy this case. A pop socket might help avoid this issue, if you are going to buy it-- but that should definitely not be necessary in the first place. It does protect your actual phone. But for $60, it should not fall apart so quickly.

A friend purchased this case and I had case envy and despite my long-time dedication to otterbox, I finally decided to break away from the ugly and go for the brilliance... and I am so glad that I did!This case is beautiful! The back is shiny and brilliant and just gorgeous. I get compliments on it all the time.The best part is that this case is not only beautiful but it's resilient as well. I've dropped my phone a few times on various points (face, corner, back) and thus far I haven't had a thing happen to my phone. No cracks or scratches! Whew!Thank you Case Mate for creating a beautiful case that's functional, beautiful AND resilient!

I’ve had it less than a month. I wouldn’t buy it again. It’s gorgeous but doesn’t last long.

Just received it. Volume buttons do not work. Tried many times. Sometimes one of them works. DO NOT BUY.

It’s beautiful but I just took it out of the package and a crystal already fell out :(
