Works well in cold weather!
I used this light in a backpacking outing in sub-freezing temperatures. It requires a "priming charge" according to the instructions that came with it. Although the initial charge took several minutes, this held its charge very well. Not as bright as my LED headlamp, but was sufficiently bright. The glow in the dark switch is a nice touch too.A bit expensive, but the build quality and never needing battery replacements is quite nice.

will buy again
made in USA, this my second one (one for basement/attic another for the car/camping)durable (casing is plastic)not fake imitation with a battery hidden in the headno leaky NiMetalhydride, Alkaline, etcno Li-ion that losses overall capacity over the yearsno manual squeezing that tires you out for a very weak light and breaks after a few useslast for a few minuets (I usually only need it for a few minuets)shake a few times for normal light, shake for one min to a minuet and a half for bright light(full charge)holds charge for a long time (if you have not used it in years, will need a few shakes)(don't be violent with it, shaking it so that the magnet slides from end to end, it is about repetition not force)(a child can use it, some elderly can use it, it doesn't need the full force of an adult male)

Total ripoff for the price
A $70 price for this plastic flashlight is a joke!!! Keep in mind that a 25 watt LED bulb puts out 2000 to 2500 lumens - this crap is only 150 lumens, it barely reaches across the living room, You can get an Everlast shake flashlight with 1500 to 2000 lumens for only $12 - $25 on eBay. I would go there this is not worth it.

Great idea
While a shake flashlight is a good idea, there are better options available for the price. The light is not very bright.

Amazing but…
It is really cool and really sturdy but something that bugs me is that the on/off switch keeps popping off. Overall great product but continuously lies in their photos it did not come with a strap, and why did it have a black version. It isn’t very bright but I would recommend gluing the button on.

reliable backup survival flashlight
The Nightstar JP shake flashlight is a superbly engineered survival flashlight with excellent product support. The brightness level and light duration are impressive. I would buy another.

No batteries ever.
The NiteStar JP flashlight is certainly unique. The tough polycarbonate body will handle just about anything that comes along. And you will never be fussing around with missing or dead batteries. The capacitor that this flashlight uses has the ability to last for decades.
