This is a nice tool, I did not know what to expect for the price but it was for a one time use so hoped for the best, but I believe that it will last me a long time and it works well.

worked great on my 1989 Mercedes 420 SEL, it takes a bit to figure out where to insert it at in the spring but once you find the right position it will compress just fine, I did the 3rd spring from the bottom and the 3rd from the top and that worked well, I also recommend oiling the threads before and after use to insure it can compress smoothly.

Great tool, very fast shipping and got the job done with no problem. I used it to compressor my C230 springs so that I can take them out for a replacement.

Poor quality

The tool is very decent quality And seem to have worked very nicely however on a 1984 300 DT The color was too large to slide through the body Therefore it could not be used on this vehicle Got stuck in the spring and was very difficult to remove Had to remove the suspension again

The rating doesn't reflect the build quality, as the tool held the front springs from my W124 under tension very well. My frustration with this compressor is that the plates are ungodly difficult to add and remove to the springs when they're under low tension while on the car. I've never cursed as much using a tool as I did with this.No instructions were included in the kit. Maybe mine had been a return and the prior buyer forgot to place them back in, I don't know. I understand the plates need the grooving to keep the coils in place when under tension, but it was just ridiculous. Still, it worked flawlessly aside from that. If the plates were easier to add/remove I'd give it 5 stars no doubt.

Had to buy this after I had a coil spring blow out with a universal compressor. Worked just like the factory Mercedes spring compressors and being able to get it over-nighted when I had a car stuck on my lift was a huge plus. Hard to beat for the price given that every other tool didn't work, seriously, I nearly lost my head(literally) using a universal spring compressor.

Worked great on my e320 4matic front springs.
