I purchased some landscape lights from amazon but unfortunately they did not come with connectors. I bought these to use and was happy that they were quite easy. You just split the two wires from the light and thread then thru the central hole. Bend the wires backwards and thread each of them into the connecting hole. Press down on the levers and they automatically connect. The connector clamps onto the power cable. I use some electrical tape to wrap around it to protect it from moisture. I am very happy with these connectors. I highly recommend them. There are some connectors which are the small screw type which screw on to the power cable but you have to split the cable in half and then individually connect to them. I find it more tedious and difficult to do that.

Like the original equipment they will break, but they work, are easy to use, and replace.

I was replacing some old malibu plastic landscape lights with new tier lights. In the past I used the square connectors with three screws to connect the wire from the light to the main wire from the power source. I decided to give these a try since that did not require tools. I will not use these again. It took multiple attempts to get the connectors to work. Some of them I just threw away because I gave up. It was difficult to align the wires perfectly so that the connector prongs could make contact with the wire. It was a big hassle. I ended up just ordering more of the square boxes sold by moonrays on amazon.I can't really speak to the weatherproof and longevity so just rated those as 3s.

Well designed and easy to install. Finally, a convenient way to easily and quickly replace broken connectors.

supply wire connection good up to 12 gauge.. supply to light bulb good to 14 gauge anything smaller and it wont connect power. my fixtures came with 20 gauge and no way that was gonna work.

Out of 10 of these units, one is defective. As you can see in the photo, the right hole you can see a small spike that pierces the wire. On the left side there is no spike. Therefore no connection to the wire and the light would not work. I have already used 9 of these units, so it would be hard to return this purchase for replacement w/o having to remove the others. As for Weatherproof or Longevity, it is too early to tell. I don't see a way to contact the seller direct to request a single unit replacement. I do like these connecters so far.Just a followup. I did find a way to communicate to seller and requested a replacement. I received a very quick response via email. They were unable to replace just one connector since Amz has the stock, so they provided a 10% refund for the single unit. So all is good, but I did order a second box of 10.

The position on the connector for your main low voltage wire is great. The problem comes in when trying to connect to the small gauge wires of most of these landscape lights. The is designed to accept at least 10 ga wire so the pin is hard hit with say an 18 ga wire from a landscape light. Had to roll our with some tape to create a spacer.. huge pita.
