I really enjoyed Lark's writing style here, great consent and sex-positivity
Stalked by the Kraken by Lillian Lark is a paranormal fantasy romance. The ebook version is 252 pages. We follow our two main characters with dual first-person points-of-view.Rose is a matchmaker for the Love Bathhouse, a safe and consensual space for sexual exploration where participants pay to play via spelled wards in the bathhouse siphoning a bit of the magic released during sex. She's been celibate for a while after a bad breakup, which isn't the best look for a matchmaker. After a week of feeling like she was being followed, the mysterious treasure-hunter Gideon walks into her office and negotiates three nights together with Rose. Did I mention he's a kraken?I really enjoyed Lark's prose here. I'm hit or miss on books that lean harder into erotica because they're usually not very well written. But this author definitely has some skills in this arena. I can also be hit or miss on possessive tendencies, but overall I liked the amount here. The book is also very sex-positive, and consent-focused, which was lovely to see. I liked the world-building and I'm absolutely going to be continuing on in this series and tangential series as well.Tropes in this book include: monster romance (tentacles), consensual nonmonogamy (referenced), shiftersCW: breeding behavior, infertility (mentioned), human trafficking

Monster romance at it's fiery finest
My literal only complaint was that he didnt stalk her nearly long enough🙃 but tentacles? Yeah, I could be down with that.I loved Gideon. There’s a lot to love if you know what I mean 😅 and Rose is adorable in a way that quickly turns into a very sex positive bombshell once she was able to see past her previous heartbreak.I love the concept of the bathhouse. There is so much opportunity for a series and I'm chomping at the bit to dive into the gargoyle sequel😅

A romance with tentacles....
Okay, so I adored Deceived by the Gargoyles, and decided to read this one next(even though it's the first book, but I was attracted to the cover of the Gargoyles one first and decided to give it a shot before trying this one out). I didn't enjoy this one as much as the other one, but I did love the monster romance once again, and being introduced to tentacles....I have to say that was new for me, and very interesting and intriguing lol. I liked the relationship between the two main characters and their banter, and communication, which seems to be rare in some of these romances is the communication. If you love monster romances, like I currently am becoming obsessed with, then you should check out this one and the next book in this series!

Everything I never knew I always wanted...
I am having a crisis of person putting this on my feed, and I am sure I would be able to stop myself if it wasn't so... *cringe* ... good.📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Rose is a witch whose family runs a bathhouse, and she specializes in matchmaking. She's lost her confidence after one perfect match - her own - goes south quickly. Gideon is a treasure hunter - and a kraken shifter. When he first sees Rose, he knows for sure she's his mate. But he can tell she's trigger shy, and instead of scaring her off, he goes about getting to know her in a more traditional sense.🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: My god, I never thought I would be typing this sentence, but here we are: This was my first kraken shifter romance. I'm still VERY much new to the shifter/fantasy/paranormal scene and have had definite moments where it's been a little too far out for me. But here I am, recommending a book about an octopus man to you all because it had the perfect combination of smut and story.I loveeeee fated mates, and Gideon's POV was all hearts and flowers and swoons for Rose. There's a subplot that's a bit suspenseful and keeps the plot moving. It's simple, fun and honestly a totally great palette cleanser if you need one.Oh, you wanted to know about the tentacles? It's not TOO strange. It's a shifting thing, so it only happens sometimes. But heyooooo with these types of romance (we saw it in ICP, in Horde King, etc) just expect a breeding kink and don't be surprised when it shows up.𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4/5 🌶🌶🌶🌶

Release the Kraken!!
Quick read but the characters are well developed and interesting. Would of liked if the MMC was a bit more assertive, not full alpha, but more sure footed in his pursuit. Enjoyable nonetheless.Loved the fact that the (secondary) characters mates wasn’t just M/F and was based more on compatibility than gender. More importantly it just was, no fuss made, just an acceptance that this person is who would be most likely to make the character happy. More of this please! The conflict was a little predictable to the detriment of the overall work. From the time it is mentioned that something was going on I immediately knew what it was and who was responsible. The trafficking thing was a bit of a curveball that didn’t really go anywhere and could of been left out entirely.Hoping for books that follow the other characters in the future so I will be checking though to see who else gets a stand-alone

Tentacles!
Phew! It's a good thing I'm not a pearl clutcher. My goodness. Lillian has amped up the steam in this book!I am adding Gideon to my book boyfriend room. There's not much space left, but I'm squeezing him in. Hot, a bit primal, TENTACLES...and over the top caring and considerate?? Yes, please - I'll take three. My genuine reactions during this would follow something like... 🙂😶😁😮😯😲😳🤯🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵😲😲🐙🐙🐙🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🙈😳😳😳🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I'm gonna go find more tentacle p*rn now...oops, sorry, I mean paranormal romance. Tentacles totally work!
4.5 Stars.Stalked by the Kraken was my first book by Lillian Lark, and I can say with certainty that it won’t be the last. It’s a dual POV almost instalove (or lust) story of sorts between a shifter kraken and a witch who runs a spicy bathhouse.I’ve been going through a bit of a monster reading phase, so this one cropped up and I was intrigued. I wasn’t sure if I’d find a kraken to be an appealing book boyfriend.. boy was I wrong!Rose had been burned by a previous relationship, so didn’t want to open up and risk her heart again. Gideon was everything you could want as your next book boyfriend and then some! He was protective, dominant when required, swoony and let me just say.. the tentacles just WORK! He was the perfect balance for Rose. The setting for most of their intimate scenes was also pretty perfect sounding, and they were SO hot!I found the story itself interesting and it held my attention the whole way through. So much so that I lost a lot of sleep not wanting to put it down! I look forward to reading more from this author!

I didn't know how much I needed to read this...
Another book club recommendation. I love finding new reads and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Reading this book was effortless. It was a hot and welcome relief from pain and heartbreak that I tend to be drawn to. The humour, the story, the joy has me warm and fuzzy, a slight smile on my face. I loved getting lost in this book and yes there were tentacles... Another first. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Sweet and sexy
I stumbled upon this book by accident, and am so glad I did! The heroine is strong, sex positive, and has lots of wonderful details to her which made her a very relatable, real character. The hero is absolutely delicious, with a strong presence, strong moral compass, and even stronger sexual prowess which was addictive. The book is very well written and felt a bit more “adult” than some books of this genre (which can be a bit immature at times). If you like a well written book, and any kind of kink in your sci-fi romance, definitely give this a go. I finished this in one sitting and have no regrets… other than the fact that I have now finished the book!

Tentacles!!!
Why did I wait so long to read this book?! I am definitely in love with Lilian Lark's books, every single one is so easy to read and addictive. The spice scenes are perfect, always different and the characters are so likeable, nothing is missing from this story at all. Oh and did I mention that there's tentacles!!
