Life with My Sister Madonna

I love Madonna and I am her faithful fan but in the book that her brother wrote you can see that there are a lot of lies written about Madonna. It is an interesting book but it is full of Lies about the queen of pop.

Ce livre est bien écrit, facile à lire et prenant. On apprend beaucoup de choses sur Madonna, sur son caractère. C'est vrai que ça la rend plus humaine. On n'est pas vraiment surpris par la personnalité de Madonna, et ça ne m'empêche pas de continuer à apprécier son art et à la suivre disque après disque. Dommage qu'elle ne sache pas mûrir et progresser, lacher du lest et être plus sympathique envers les gens qu'elle dit aimer et qui l'aiment. Elle a beaucoup de colère en elle, à son âge, avec son expérience, elle devrait s'assigir. Concernant l'auteur, son frère, je trouve qu'il grinche trop, même s'il a des raisons. Il est parfois un peu trop dur avec sa soeur concernant sa musique et ses concerts. Mais ce livre vaut le coup.

Plenty of interesting stories about Hollywood. Madonna treats her brother poorly and he talks about her overblown ego a good deal in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Voici un frère qui nous livre les détails de sa relation avec sa célèbre frangine depuis leurs début dans le show biz jusqu'au jour où Madonna décide de changer de style et en profite pour rembarrer son petit frère. A lire en 1 heure et à la fin on peut se dire: mais quelle peau de vache cette fille!!! livre sympa et vengeur mais pas méchant.

I finished this Madonna book in a day. It's an easy to read account, a real page turner. To be honest there's nothing here about Madonna that I did not already suspect... she's an egotistical megalomaniac and a penny pincher to boot. It comes across loud and clear, as it does so often on the various documentaries and in her own projects like In Bed With Madonna etc so no surprises there really.What surprised me most was Guy Ritchie. I've always liked him although never really watched much of his work unless Madonna was involved in some way but he comes off really badly in the book and is a complete and utter a**hole!!! I'm not surprised there is problems in that marriage but then again, him and Madonna are probably well matched.Christopher has come through a lot of personal stuff in his life and this book is his way of setting the record straight and off loading everything. I have a lot of empathy for him. I think he may be playing down his use of drugs in the book but then again he may be telling the truth here. I just don't know.Madonna is very anti-drugs (though that wasn't the case at the time when she first went to New York), but they kinda got a grip of him and yet he insists he was never an addict. This was one of the reasons Madonna did not have him working with her much after the mid to late 90's.Basically, Guy's homophobia didn't ease matters and was the reason that finally drove them apart to the point of no return.All the time however, you can see that Christopher loves his sister and I think the book is almost like a cry for help. Madonna really needs to take a long hard look at herself, it's time for her to take a step back and come down to earth. Maybe this book will make her think. I don't care how famous she is or how much she has achieved, there's never an excuse for that type of behavior. Not from her or anyone.She's sacrificed a lot for her marriage as I am sure everyone does but it's probably cost her dearly in human resources, and this may just be the tip of the iceberg for her as more people come forward with stories about her, especially if this book is successful, which it looks likely to be.I've always enjoyed Madonna's music. I've followed her career from that start and I don't think any less of her for reading this. Anyone can sustain a long career but to have the success that she has enjoyed and be consistently on top of her league is no mean feat. This will not change that.
