Onion Holder With Finger Guard Made of Stainless Steel By IDEAMAZE

This is a great product! I love it! I hate to cut onions. I have tried a bunch of gadgets to cut them none of them that really worked well for onions. I have a slicer that work great on everything but onions! I have a food processor that can't cut onions. I have a litlle box chopper that doesn't cut onions well.But this workd terrific! No more tears! It not only hods the onion so you can cut it, it keeps it all together so the juices of the onions don't make you cry! It would probably work well for tomatoes too but I havent tried it yet. You can cut between the spokes to get whatever size you want! I wish I had gotten it sooner. Would have saved so much on gadgets!It came with two other extra items. First a round metal disk that comes inside the handle of the onion holder used to remove onion scent from your fingers. But with this holder you dont need it because you never have to touch the onion! (except to peel it). It also comes with a little finger guard to protect your fingers when cutting. Again, not needed with the holder because your fingers are never by the knife! It is also very awkward to hold food with the protector on you fingers. They both could be used for other things though. The metal disc for garlic fingers (but I've found a gadget for that too - the garlic rocker!) and the protector could be used for any other cutting without the holder. But I wont probably use them.I rate this 5 stars because the onion holder/slicer works exactly as it should. It is a well made, sturdy product. I would be more worried about breaking my ceramic knives on the metal than the spokes breaking! So I would highly recommend this product!

I purchased three of these from various sellers on Amazon lightning deals. I gave two away for stocking stuffers and kept one for myself.I am disabled and in the past I have nicked my fingers when trying to slice an onion... NO MORE!!!These onion holders are easy to use. They have a padded grip, a finger protector, and a stainless steel thingie (sorry, I forget what it's called) to use when washing your hands. Just rub the thingie in your palms under water and it will take away the onion smell from your hands and fingers.The product description doesn't say this... but these are great! for cutting many kinds of vegetables! I use it with tomatoes and for the first time in my life I get even tomato slices... also good for slicing zucchinis, oranges, apples... lots of fruits and veggies.

I don't need the finger shield and have no idea if the stainless "soap" for removing smells works. But as someone who has a dominant-hand injury and therefore has difficulty wielding a knife with much dexterity, the holder has been just what I needed for slicing onions, tomatoes, and other vegetables. Works well for me.

I didn't like the onion holder that much- the price is good, though.However, this onion holder is not very convenient. I think it should have something like a rest while I am cutting the onion/vegetable with my knife. One hand is supposed to keep the holder+ onion in place, while the other is supposed to insert the sharp knife in the middle of the two prongs and cut the onion.. That just doesn't work for me as a newbie. Maybe, with practice, I could get more used to it?Also, there is no cover for storing the onion holder- which means, those sharp prongs could just be lying there in my knife drawer, ready to pierce the skin of anyone rummaging through the cabinet to find something else. I have to keep it in the cardboard box all the time- not convenient.

Sturdy easy to hold

Purchased this set after I almost sliced my finger off, cutting an onion. Works as expected!

Best tool for slicing onions, makes it easy to hold the root end when dicing, also the tines are useful guides for slicing onions into rings. Works well with tomatoes too.
