In my motorhome I may need to stack one 12v 200 amp battery on top of another, because of limited space.  Is the battery case ok when two high?

You could stack our Zooms 12V(12.8V) 200Ah Plus LiFePO4 batteries on top of each other, but we suggest that you could add a shelf between them to avoid direct contact between the post bolts of lower battery and the bottom of upper battery.

Can use this as a direct replacement of my lead acid battery in my travel trailer? Any issues with charging?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can, however, your lead acid battery converter/charger in your trailer will not charge the Lifepo4 fully, it will only charge it to 80% of its capacity and might influence the battery performance in long-term usage. We recommend you use a Lifepo4 specific converter/charger for your trailer so you will get the full charge for this battery.

When connecting two batteries in parallel, does the load output power increase to 2560?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the two batteries combined in parallel will double the Watt Hours (Wh) the pair will deliver over the Watt Hours (Wh) of one battery.

Generically, anytime a number of batteries are connected in parallel, the available amperage (and hence the Amp Hour [Ah]) rating is a multiple of the single battery. Hence, if two (2) 12Ah batteries are connected in parallel, the pair can now deliver 24Ah. Three (3) 12Ah batteries in parallel can deliver 36Ah, and so on.

Since Watt Hours are equal to Amp Hours X Volts, doubling the Amp Hours will double the Watt Hours since, in parallel, the voltage is the same as that of the single battery but the amperage is doubled.

Zooms limits multiple battery banks to 4 units in the product manual.

Incidentally, if you connect the two batteries in series, you also double the Watt Hours, since in series the output voltage doubles but the Amp Hours stay the same as a single battery.
