Great for serving; heats evenly, and holds heat well at table.
Package arrived on time. This is a large heavy pot, but it was the most carefully boxed item I have ever received with redundant fittings in the box. Naturally it arrived in perfect condition. Black color is very handsome. Previous large pots have been round. I am very happy with this oval shape. I have used it for Beef Pot Roast, Chicken Cacciatore, Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin Roast, and soup.

ONLY PROBLEM: The directions are NOT CLEAR, the booklet says to boil milk in pot before first use, I do not understand, the directions do not go into detail. Updated from 5 stars to 1
Update after 4 uses. The Dutch oven was hand washed. It was not subjected to any drastic temperature changes. I never heated it empty. After 4 uses I noticed tiny spider web like cracks all over the inside. There is also a burn mark on the underside of the pan. For something that is advertised as such a durable product, it appears to be pretty crummy. The Dutch oven does not look as pictured - the logo is different. I cooked in it twice today. Granted nothing burned, clean up was easy. I fear that it is going to crack since I already had one ceramic Dutch oven that cracked when I cooked a turkey leg in it with minimal liquid. It doesn't look as large as it actually is, probably because it's oval. My previous 7 quart Dutch oven looks a heck of a lot bigger. This is only 6.3, but looks smaller.

Lighter than Le creuset but lid slides around
Happy that not so heavy but not thrilled with how loose the cover is. Was worth the Prime Day price but not much more.

Love, Love, Love Emile Henry Flame !!!!
Easy to go from stovetop to fridge, and microwave the leftovers the next day. No plastic exposure. I am obsessed with this quality cookware. Own lots of it. I like a pop of color, and was so disappointed they discontinued Fig. So we have red or charcoal. Charcoal is dark brown as typical of these high fire clay glazes; it's nice. The red is best for me, matches Staub red, and kinda Cerise Le Creuset which is a little orangey. I want them to bring back the Sautee pan!!!Best point of this 6 qt is that it's more lightweight than cast iron. This will be important when I get older, and can't lift a cast iron dutch oven. Browns nicely, not as well as cast iron, and holds heat a bit less...which prevents me from overcooking things. My favorite piece is my soup pot!

out of the box quite large, a few bubbles in finish, heavier than I'm use to
....So large Im not sure where to store as the EH box does not contain internal supports as other EH cartons have in the past...these shipped with tight plastic straps on the lid and pot fit together. Also, I'm not sure that I can afford the amount of food needed to cover the bottom of this pot in a single cooking. I'm accustomed to the Le Crueset 2 3/4 qt oval dutch oven and a Teknika stainless steel oven by Silga Milano 1 1/2 qt that are both often inaccessible due to price. Sadily, a Le Crueset interior enamel only last 15 years of twice a day daily in and out of fridge use and the Teknika is still going strong after 5 years but showing wear. Unfortunately, there were at least 3 bubbles in the glaze-finish of this EH. I have had Emile Henry before, this is not the color burgundy; box says it is made in France. This item is much heavier than the tagine, baguette baker and bread cloche we have (all different colors. So far okay...a little tired of the less than great cookware with bubbles and irregular edges, so I might only buy from brick and mortar going forward, the products seem to be slightly irregular and very dusty upon receipt and I don't like dealing with the returns. So far okay.
