True to its name, the book provides hands on knowledge for media students about the field. Use of simple language makes the book easy to follow and most of the text is supported with images/ graphics. The author has even shared some personal experiences which furthermore helps in drawing parallels between the daily life and the concepts discussed. A rare feature of this book is that apart from offering a firm understanding on media theories, it goes beyond and deals with contemporary issues too (especially about social media and data privacy as well as protection). Author's sensitivity towards the gender terminologies used ("his/her") is much appreciated. A must read for media students and a great read for anyone willing to understand media or role of media in our lives. Recommended to everyone.

It's a first-of-its-kind handbook available for journalism and mass communication students, if in one word only, I can summarize I would say it's BRILLIANT. It's an expertly written, insightful, and Master-class for journalism and mass communication students. There are hundreds of books available out there but this is the BEST.

Useful book.

It is one of the easiest read I have had and yet so much knowledge. I am not a very big fan of reading books but this one is definitely worth a read.
