Affordable solution for ambient noise prevention
I added this vocal isolation cover for my Rode mic and it was the perfect solution for my home VO booth. Though I transformed a walk-in closet into a pretty nice booth, I could always hear the low hum of my building's elevator and overhead airplanes in the distance. I needed an affordable way to isolate vocal sound without my voice sounding too dead. My VO agent suggested I consult with an expensive engineer. The sales agent at the electronics store where I bought the mic suggested an isolation cover that was over $100. I ended up researching low cost options and this one ranked pretty high. The box came really damaged, but because the cover itself is almost entirely made of foam and didnt appear damaged, I decided to try it before returning it. It works like a charm and was a GREAT solution to my problem. Once installed, I just add more gain and the sound is wonderful. I decided to keep the cover that I received, but I advise others to beware of the potential for damage during shipping. The shipping box was so light weight that I think it just got smashed up in transit.

Not a gimmick
I used a gift card to purchase this, and I've been eyeballing similar products for years. I always feel the pinch buying acoustical foam products because it feels like a ridiculous amount of money for what you get, but I must say using this with my AT2020 is night and day. I have a fairly well-isolated room that's been put together with audio quality in mind, but using this over my mic does more for isolating the sound than any of my other solutions have, hands down. I'm weird and care about how my mic sounds, and I love knowing I have super crisp vocal quality now.

Great job for what it is!
Although living in a 55+ community near the shore sounds delightfully peaceful, it noisy. All kinds of lawn maintenance equipment going off all day, planes, etc. Desperate to have in-home recording studio built. This solved the immediate problem. Blocks out 90% of the sounds, especially the sounds in the air bouncing off the walls. Great intermediate fix.

Must need for any artist/vocalist
I think this is must needed for anyone who makes music as well vocals for music to sample. I think when it come to the vocal they are important and want that studio quality. As well tend to make it almost a compressed vocal just through the mic itself.

It works!
I purchased this item so I wouldn’t have to leave my home to drop vocals on my tracks. And it work great. I have released tracks using this item and receive an award on one piece of work. With the right eq there is no need to hit the studio elsewhere. Make sure you get the right mic size. It stretches to grip the mic. Also your mic mount needs to be correct so you can to push it completely around the mic.

I wanted this to work..
The other reviews citing how this product doesn't properly fit mics was true in my case as well, but my biggest issue was the fact that it simply didn't work. I did a before/after test with my medium sized condenser mic and found it had no effect on filtering the resonance of the room at all. The only difference I could hear was a very slight roll off in certain high frequencies but that's about it.
