Gunpowder Irish Gin With Sardinian Citrus, 43 Percent, 70 cl

I like the way you say it—makes it sound posh. It's really just a boggy hole in the ground.
That's what the Irish barman said when I ordered this, mangling the name. I said drum-shan-BO but correctly it's drum-SHAN-bo. Well it might be a boggy hole in the ground but this gin has a special place in my ... um, liver. I was introduced to it when I was attending a conference in Dublin, and I ordered a gin and tonic, whatever gin you recommend, however you recommend it, and I got this with fever tree, in plenty of ice and well garnished with pink grapefruit in a big gin balloon glass. Has to be tried. The overall effect has the grapefruit sharpness and the peppery darkness of the infused Chinese "gunpowder" tea. I've tried other tea-infused gins, and the tea aspect and the gin aspect remained somehow separate. Here the flavours really blend wonderfully. Please try this gin. My supermarket only carries it sporadically, which makes me think I need to get more converts to ensure a steady supply.

Gunpowder Gin 'Blows your Socks off!'
I have recently tried quite a number gins during lockdown, and this one caught my eye but was also reviewed by Bobby Freeman on 'No Nonsense Gin-Drinking' on Youtube. It is quite literally spectacular and intense, with distinct green tea, Angelica and liquorice overtones. It is 100% better than Beefeater 24, which I previously reviewed and has a real 'kick' but in nice way. Its a little dearer than some and the cheapest I have found it is, on Amazon subscribe and save right now for £29.45, but you know what,it's worth every penny. The flavours stay with you for ages, so its a drink to be sipped with Fever Tree tonic of course, and can't be drunk quickly. Probably the best gin I have brought to date and a real lockdown treat!

My favorite gin
This is now my favourite gin. I tried all sorts of flavoured gins. Find them rather sweet and sickly. This one is delicious, something that you cannot tell what it is, a bit like pepper but without the fire.Best gin for me and the bottle is gorgeous, I am making a set now, beautiful with summer posies or single roses.

Excellent Gin... I suspect...???
This is one gin that I find truly hard to judge... There's absolutely no doubt, whatsoever, that this is a high quality and concentrated gin, just not that convinced it's for me... My palate for flavours and their description really isn't that good, but this gin comes across as a curious mix of being hebacious and citrus all at the same time... There's quite a dominating herbal character, front & centre on the palate, which is accompanied by a bright and lively citrus character as a secondary "impact"... Look, I really don't have a clue about the correct and proper terms, but this is a lovely gin, no doubt, but with what strikes me as a slightly confused flavour profile...!!! I cannot critique anyone for giving this a full five stars, nor would I pull someone over for scoring it less... I suppose that the only true way to know if you're gonna like this one is to buy a bottle and find out for yourself... Soz...!!! :¬)))

Be rude not to
This is a very distinctive gin and may not be to everyone's taste but it is my favourite and when on special offer on Amazon, is amazing value. Beautiful with fever tree tonic and a slice of grapefruit
