When I saw that the second ingredient is sugar and then later down the list it says brown sugar, I just knew I wouldn't like it. Who likes sweet seafood?!?!? I didn't want to risk it so I split our boil in 2 and did one with Smackalicious Garlic and the other with my regular garlic sauce. I only used a cup of minced garlic even though it says to use 3 cups. I didn't have pickled ginger so I just sliced off a 1" piece of garlic root we had. I tasted it while warming and this sauce packed a punch! Almost like biting into an orange peel. Way to strong and not sweet at all. I added another cup of water and another stick of butter which did nothing to temper the strength. The citrus flavor already tasted a bit like ginger so I pulled out my chunk of ginger. Any stronger and it would have been toxic. We par boiled our ingredients (crawdads, crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn and mushrooms) in a spicy crab boil and then put it in a boil bag and finished it off in the oven. The finished boil was amazing! Once the sauce mixed with all the juices of the other boil ingredients, it tasted perfect. Smackalicious Garlic made my garlic sauce taste bland. Both were good but everyone said this one was their favorite if they had to choose one. The full bag og mix makes about a quart of sauce.

This was recommended to me by a family member who said it was delicious and I believed them. It was horrendous and a great waste of money. I would rather order a seafood boil from a restaurant and use the extra sauce in the bag rather than buy something that is completely unusable and it ruins the potatoes and corn and just the whole meal. I wish I could score it lower than a one star it deserves a negative score rating.

The smell of the dry seasoning is a nasal cleanser (don’t ask how I know) that only gets worse. I’ve seen a ton of mukbangers eat this sauce so I was excited to try it. The sodium count alone should be enough to dissuade anyone from consuming this because at 77% per serving, it is basically a heart attack in a bowl. I decided to start with only 2 TBS and will say that the addition of onions is an absolute must! Without it, the “sauce” is just a glob of separated oil and gritty seasoning in a bowl. I unknowingly dropped a little on my shirt. 20 minutes later I kept sniffing and asking myself, “what the HELL is that smell?!” Apparently, the stench was the sauce that spilled on my shirt (if you’re curious, it kinda smelled like neem oil, which kinda smells like - - -). The smell was so pungent that I took it off immediately and threw it in the wash. I am happy for B Love and even happier for everyone who likes this sauce. It just does not suit my taste.
