A Very Old Fashioned And Dated Film
I should probably say right away, to those that are interested, that this film is certainly NOT porn. In fact, I would argue that it is hardly even "soft core" erotica. Truthfully, this film is, fundamentally, a travel documentary and historical artifact, with a little bit of sexuality thrown in. In fact, my favorite part of the movie, by far, was seeing what Hamburg, Germany looked like in 1970. This must have been very similar to what the Beatles experienced when they performed there in the very early 1960's. As most of us already know, the Beatles basically "cut their teeth" professionally, and learned how to perform successfully in a public setting, during their extended stay in Hamburg. They must surely have seen and experienced the same slightly seedy, gritty, red light district portrayed in the film. All of these scenes were a real eye-opener, from the prostitutes leaning out of windows, to the singularly unattractive female mud wrestlers, to the pornography shops, to the huge and garish neon signs. This was an amazing glimpse into another era altogether, in a very exotic setting. But I should emphasize again that if you are looking for solid erotica, or even just extended soft core scenes, you will be seriously disappointed. For example, when people undress in the film, you only see them naked for just a few moments, then the scene cuts to postcard shots of restaurants, nightclubs, and boats on rivers. As another example, when the lead character of "Lillian" climbs into bed with her female roommate, they start to kiss, and then the scene quickly cuts to even more restaurants, cafes, and museums! This movie is like a tourist travel-log, with just brief flashes of nudity. When I purchased this, I had honesty thought that the erotic moments would last longer than just 20 seconds! On the plus side, the cinematography of early 1970's Europe is pretty amazing. There is plenty of beautiful architecture, medieval churches, quaint shops, and mod-looking pedestrians. Furthermore, many of the actresses are truly gorgeous. The lead, Anne Grete Nissin, is an absolute knockout -- and you do get to see her nude in several scenes. But the actual sexual interactions are very minimal, at best. By the way, it is interesting and amusing to see that everybody drinks and smokes, all the time! Even while driving!! For instance, the "photographer" driving the van is drinking rum cocktails and chain smoking the whole time he drives -- and then they park in the middle (!) of the road to have (very very brief) sex! What the heck? And, I was certainly stunned to see that the college dining hall has its own head waiter, wearing a tuxedo!! Boy, college dining halls sure have changed since 1970! Additionally, there will be some viewers who will no doubt be offended by the sexist themes of the film. There is a strong underlying message that the character of Lillian should be primarily focused on "pleasing" her partners. In fact, the character of the "Doctor" practically orders her to go out and "make men happy". Yikes. Sounds just like Hugh Hefner, at the Playboy Mansion.... Anyway, it is truly ironic that this movie is not nearly as sexy as the trailers that accompany it, as a special feature. In fact, I was much more intrigued by the trailers than I was by the actual film itself. That's kind of funny, in a way. Oh well, you may wish to view this as an interesting and colorful historical artifact. But if you are looking for something to put you "in the mood", forget it.

Late 60's softcore.
I will admit that I originally saw the movie when it first came out in 1970. I got a hold of the DVD based on memories of my younger days. It's one of those cute Danish/Swedish softcore films that were prevalent in that era. There is ample female nudity, an inane plot but if you're interested in "hardcore" porn there is none of that. It's a historical artifact. The actress is cute and looks good sans clothes. If you want to see a cute Danish blonde girl naked, this is the movie for you. Otherwise, it doesn't have much to recommend.

Film was from my youth, and i enjoyed seeing it again.
I remember the newspaper ads for this film when I was going into the service, there were two neighborhood movie theaters, one showed "family" films, and the other showed more "mature" films. I was in uniform, so I was able to see this film.I was very glad to know it was available, and purchased it.

Fair soft porn!
This is only fair soft porn. It lacks a lot of actresses in the nude. The story line is weak!

Au natural
Typical 70's Euro style soft porn. Pretty girl finds lots of excuses to take her clothes off. If that's what you're expecting this delivers perfectly.
