Good Contemporary review of the UFO Situation
I almost didn't purchase this book due to a lone bad review. In it, the reviewer stated that the information was freely available on the Internet, and thus the book was a poor mish-mash of unverified statements obtained from the internet. ha! Don't be fooled. Correct or incorrect, the authors have done their best to crack open the ultra black world of contemporary Ufology...Yes, I suppose that one could find the information on the internet if they had hours and hours of time, not to mention the research skills necessary to do so... Not everyone has this ability. Most of us carry a full weight of work and home responsibilities and the inconvenience of a comprehensive internet search is unlikely and very impractical. For me, the small price of the book greatly outweighed the months of time to acquire the information on my own. That being stated, the information is exactly what you would expect. The key players are represented and the "state of the art" understanding of the UFO issue is presented in all it's glory. There will be few surprises for the knowledgeable reader of this subject. yet, it is a great asset in that it is comprehensive and serves as an excellent resource for digging further on to the subject matter. Truth be told, the internet is the only information source many of us use for our information source. That include technical research and work issues.Welcome to the real world of the UFO situation. All of us players in this arena are now approaching retirement and we are tired of the black world of compartmentalization. We yearn to know the entire story. many of us only know the bits and pieces that we have experienced while in the service or when we worked at the secret facilities. we want to understand what was behind the curtain. We want to know exactly what happened when we walked into the electronic field. We want to know where the technical documents that we studied came from.Truthfully, other people like me, made the drawings for the technical illustrations. Other technical writers gave the descriptions of the alien devices. Other Engineers wrote the equations and did the testing. Do you actually think that all of us have decided to be quiet and accept the agreements that we signed when we were 21? Now we are nearing retirement. We are through multiple divorces. We have children that we put through college and are looking at the lives that we lived. We have only one way to get our information out. That is through the internet. If you want to know what is going on...read this book. I can't vouch for all of it. But enough of the things that I do know as fact are in here. It is a bit too limited to the black projects associated withe the CIA, DOD and AF. It leaves out the very significant dimensional transportation work of the Navy (I am NOT referring to the Philly experiment) . But in time that will come out as well. Read it. Absorb it. You will not be sorry...

A Skeptic Wavers...
I had been interested in ufology for years, but after reading everything I could get my hands on, attending MUFON conferences, and watching every TV special, film, etc., they could make, I eventually just sort of gave up on it because of the lack of physical evidence and conflicting information. A while ago, I read Annie Jacobsen's `Area 51', posted a review of it, and then got into a very interesting conversation with Captain Collins. My interest, obviously dormant and not dead, is sparked by the author's straightforward delivery and unaffected prose. Obviously a highly qualified government employee for over 20 years, Mr Collins has written a detailed and rather technical book (very unlike the anecdotal abduction accounts that are the usual UFO fare) that he must truly feel needed to be written, for as a pilot and intelligence operator, he must have felt greatly at risk of job loss, mockery, etc. for exposing what can only be described as fantastic world-changing information. He is retired now, so... I do not fully understand why the US government is so hell-bent on keeping this info from everyone after all of this time. As Reagan said (and at the time I completely mocked him out) that we would likely forget all of our differences if we were faced with a phenom like this, isn't it about time? Why all the cloak-and-dagger when trotting out a few EBEs might be just what we need? But, after our reaction to the imbecilic `War of the Worlds', I can see why the powers that be did not want pandemonium. I asked Mr Collins how, if these visitors are here, why we do not know about something so big and world-changing, how do you hide something of that magnitude? He said, paranoia. Well, makes sense. I like the explanation of the aliens' form of religion: That they believe in the entire universe as a supreme being. How sensible. How refreshing. And I loved the parts where he described the aliens and what they were like. How they eat and digest food, what their organs are like, complete with diagrams. To discuss them in that way, as if they were right there, was fascinating. The story of the exchange program, though, is a new on on me. That a dozen astronauts (?) were sent to the visitors' planet in exchange for a number of the visitors to come here and live in the USA for a certain time? Why is this the first time we have ever heard of such a thing? I am not clear on what sort of quid pro quo we had with them. They could just teleport themselves home if they did not wish to be here, I imagine. And how are they so adaptable to our environment? They come from another galaxy, their blood, skin and organs are not like ours, but yet they breathe our air, and find the local flora perfectly suitable to their needs?...strawberry ice cream and Tibetan music? I dunno. If they are from such an advanced society, why aren't they just a bit more helpful? You can't tell me that they don't know more than we do about disease and other things that plague us. I still have so many questions and I keep seesawing on all of this. This phenomenon goes so deep, though, that on the surface, things may look more peculiar than they are, it is so complex. Truth is often stranger than fiction. When the Wright brothers did their thing, for example, people thought they were nuts. 100 years ago, Radio Shack's electronic picture frame would have appeared as magic, so a crystal with changing images, maybe not so nuts. That's the whole thing about this subject, it's too fantastic but plausible at the same time. But why would Mr Collins stick his neck out like this if he wasn't really committed to the subject? It is a risky thing to do considering his official status all those years. He must really feel that he is onto something, otherwise, It just doesn't make sense. As the world's biggest skeptic, I have to say that this book has made me re-think the issue to the point where and I am as close to becoming a believer as I have ever been. Hmmm...give me some physical proof and a cure for cancer, and who knows?

Fantastic testimony. Convincing, worthwhile and thorough
Robert Collins and Richard Doty are respected contributors to Ufology. The unnecessarily long-winded title (designed to pick up as many internet search hits as possible?) doesn't do justice to the much broader subject matter within. This book is packed with meticulous research, interesting anecdotes and provides a valuable insight into this world. "Exempt from Disclosure" is highly held within circles of those familiar with the subject, however due to its thorough nature it is not an easy read and does not readily 'flow' due to constant cross-referencing which may put some off, however is useful in providing the reader with sources of further reading.Despite this minor complaint, for both newcomers and those well-versed in the subject, it provides a convincing and robust background to a subject that is too easily dismissed by sceptics and the ignorant. The UFO/ET phenomena is a far bigger story than we have been allowed to believe, with high level collusion and cover-ups at every level. This book goes a long way to joining the dots and opening our eyes, and even this only scratches the surface of the biggest story never told. Worthwhile.
