Connecom makes a really decent walkie style radio. I like the solid, sturdy construction, because when you’re out in the field, a dropped radio can spell disaster. I got this set to specifically use when out with a film crew, allowing us to adequately speak back and forth to cover the distance on the different angle shots, without having to slow down production. And they work great!We have yet to test the full limits on their range, because so far, we haven’t found one. Granted, we really aren’t a mile apart, more like too far for yelling distance. So, I can’t speak to that. The signal came across strong, and the sound came through crisp and non-garbled or staticky sounding. The battery life took us through our entire shooting day, which was about 4 hours, and we have probably gone for close to that length of time longer!

This set of 2-way radios is as good as it gets for the price. First, you get 4, which exceeds our needs by 2. We tried them at 1/4 mile and there was no static or other issues. They just work! With constant use, they seem to last about 5 hours before they need to be recharged. They are also not very heavy and easy to slip into a pocket.

This is a really well made set. Obviously made for construction, law enforcement and security. Long range communication perfect for large job sites. Crystal clear transmissions. Great battery life which is the biggest issues with these sets. Privacy settings are amazing...you can set passwords so that no one else hears your transmissions without it. Sturdy housing that is meant to take a beating. I felt the price was reasonable.

Indoor tested at 5 miles and worked like a charm. Highly recommend.
