Are these true to size?

I believe so, yes. Copied my partners trainers which are also an 8.5. It’s nice you can get a half size these days!

Are these boots stiff? I’d like to use them for cycling and so my ankle needs to move.

They are well padded and quite stiff until they are worn in. I use mine for walking the hills with the dog and they are really supportive.
