Perfectly capable, somewhat uncommon cable
I have a device that only has mini-DP out, and doesn't support HDMI. Turns out it's a chipset issue, but it meant I needed an actual display port cable for it. This one has worked great.

For those with the "wrong Mini-DP cable", this cable is very likely the one that you need.
I bought one of the cheapest mini-DP-to-DP 1.2 cables on eBay and it oddly shipped from some place less than 50 miles from where I live, but it worked fine on 1024x768, so I figured that it worked fine with 4k at 60hz as advertised. That was a while back and when I tried it on my 4k display, I kept getting flickering and clicking, plus I could not get another refresh rate than 24hz at any resolution. Of course, I checked thoroughly for another cable and the StarTech mini-DP-to-DP 1.4 cable was one of the most expensive, but was created within the past few years, and since computer technology standards have been little-to-none for the past decade, I had to rely on getting overkill for my display to work. Well, I ordered this cable and after receiving it, I plugged it in and my display now works fine, but my surge protector is still clicking constantly. It looks like that "cheap" cable was more than I had bargained originally, but at least I have 4k at 60hz now.If you liked this review, then please click the "thumbs up" button or positively rate it, so that others are more likely to see this review in the future. A good, low-cost adapter cable for my 2015 27" iMac
I bought this to add on an external 4k monitor to my 2015 iMac with a 27" Retina display built-in. It drives the external Samsung 27" 4k monitor without any issues. I use the suggested settings for the 2nd display resolution in MacOS, and the cable is working perfectly now for quite some time. It seems a mini DisplayPort connector isn't too common outside of a few Macintosh computers, so I was glad to find this decent adapter cable to use to connect my external display.

It handles 4K HDR 144Hz, perfect for me
The only liitle downside is the material. Like everything from StarTech, the connector and cable plastic look and feel low quality. Cable is not very flexible, But it worked right away in DP 1.4.

Finally works! Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 4k resolution.
My Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 finally works with 4k resolution without any visual glitches, shutoffs or other annoyances! Definitely worth it to spend a little extra.Cable was surprisingly thin and compact also love the connection mechanism which doesn't allow for connection to slip!

Excellment quality, from my monitor to desktop
I had used the LG monitor cord & connected it to a Display port-HDMI that i bought for my new desktop, I used it for 10 monthsLenovo 2nd level support recommended a top quality type of cable (not brand name) -- It dramatically improved screen, videos etc. And, in particular the quality of images.Highly recommend.

Cable is mini DP 1.4 to DP1.4
Needed a good cable for my new monitor that I knew would support a higher refresh rate at 2k. I had a hard time finding anything cheaper that I knew for sure was going to work, so I just opted to go for a more expensive cable with a brand I recognized. I was not let down by this cable it worked perfectly for my setup.
