It’s a fairly rough finish to the product that will require some finishing on your end. Pretty much made with what looks like sanded pallet lumber w not one square or finished edge to it.

While maybe a little high in price it’s an awesome shelf you would never know what’s hiding inside

Purchased this product for something that could be placed out of reach of children and would secure the weapons at the same time ( in plain sight, of course).Installation was rather straight forward. Looks great and serves its purpose without question. Overall, very pleased with this purchase. The only disappointment I have, and admittedly very minor, is the quality of the foam provided for the inside. It was a struggle to cut through it with accuracy and that task alone becomes a mess. It’s merely a block of foam, nothing more, nothing less. I am more accustomed to the foam that comes inside a premium gun cases, which is typically not a solid piece of foam and is easier to work with. Nevertheless, different foam can always be purchased to replace it. But with the price-point of this product, I was expecting a better quality foam. However, as I said, this does not change my overall opinion of the product or the purchase. I struggled between a 4 and 5 star rating for this reason. But I would definitely recommend the product.
