Columbia Men's EvaPOURation Jacket

I bought this for a marathon race because just a few days before the race, the forecast was 100% chance of rain. First of all, I'm 6' tall and 180lb. I usually wear medium size jacket, only occasionally I would need a large. I debated for a long time what size to get because most of the answered questions would suggest a large for my build. Plus, the large size is somehow a whopping $40 cheaper than the medium.I went with my gut feeling and ordered a medium size because I don't want a very loose jacket for running. Once I got the jacket and tried it on, it fit me perfectly. However, the style of the jacket does not look like the male model picture on the Amazon page. (See my photo as reference) The actual jacket fits loose and the model either has it one size smaller or the jacket is pinned on the back for photography effect.Anyway, the jacket itself is quite good. It is 100% waterproof and it's very light. Though I don't find it's breathable like it claimed in the product description. I wore this on the marathon. While it was raining heavily, the jacket kept my dry the whole run. Though my body was quite sweaty from the running. The vents under the armpits helped a bit. After the race when I stopped running, I immediately felt very cold. So don't count on this jacket to keep you warm.

This has treated me so well. It is so light, so breathable (I leave the armpit zippers permanently open because its so much more comfortable), it is sleek, comfortable, and most importantly—keeps the water out and away!I am 6' 1" and pretty thin, but this fit me perfectly. Large enough to fit a sweater underneath, but not at all baggy and hideous. The end of the sleeves are tight enough not to let water in, but not so tight that you could retract your fists inside when its really wet and cold :)Also, the top of the zipper has a little protector in front of it, so you won't have that horrible feeling of a zipper bumping against your jaw or lips. The hood comes around your head and stays on, but doesn't obscure vision too much.Basically, I didn't even realize that there could be a perfect rain coat, but this is it! Super reasonably priced, no need to look elsewhere.

I was looking for a rain jacket to wear hiking across country this summer. I live in upstate New York so I also needed something functional to wear to work when it downpours.The jacket is fantastic. Well made seams which don't leak, a great hood with cinches to tighten it against the wind, slightly long to extend coverage, and kept me completely dry.The fabric does not retain too much heat, and I purchased this version specifically for the underarm vents, which are a life saver.I went kayaking for two hours in a steady rain and was bone dry wearing this jacket! I highly recommend this!!

Got this for my husband (I have one just like it but got it at a store). They worked well as we hiked in the rain. It's mainly for cool-season as it's not breathable. Found that the humidity made the sleeves really sticky. Had to wear a long sleeved shirt or jacket under. Some people would find it annoying. But I think it's the tradeoff for actually being 100% waterproof.

I guess I should've expected what I received given the price point. I was replacing a nearly identical rain coat from Columbia that started to shed its interior lining into white snow with every move, but it gave me 5 years of heavy active use so I had little to complain about. It was heavier and far better constructed than this coat. I seriously doubt I'll get through a single rainy season before this coat falls apart at the seams. LITERALLY! The interior has the same white applique, but it's cheaply applied.That said, if you're looking for a cheap one season wind/rain coat you can pack for your adventures, this is it, but don't expect longevity, and be sure to pack extra layers!

These product is of great quality. I never knew a jacket could be so lightweight yet still do such a good job at entrapping heat and keeping rain out. It's like you're hardly wearing anything. Though let it be known that if it is warm out, you will most likely overheat a bit. It's stylish, good quality, and a good price for what you're paying for.

Very nice rain jacket.UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: I can say with all honesty this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. After one year of heavy use, it is still in virtually perfect condition. From the under-arm vents to the large mesh zippered pockets to the waterproof zipper to the ultra lightweight, durable, 100% waterproof material... this jacket is FOR REAL.

This jacket works great for it's purpose. It has kept me dry in some pretty heavy rains. I really like how the cuffs are made with some elastic in them to allow them to go over your hands. Other jackets with adjustable cuffs usually dont have this so you end up having to re-do them when you put on and take off your jacket. I also really like the draw string on the hood. It doesnt just wrap around the edge like a normal hood draw string. Instead it cleverly loops back behind your head so that when its pulled it draws the hood back slightly to keep it from just blocking your view. It's hard to explain, but I've never seen another jacket like this. Lastly, I LOVE the zippered vents in the under arm area. I'm one of thos epeople who is always hot. The difference these vents make is immense. The jacket still manages to keep me dry with the vents open. Overall, I couldnt be happier with this jacket. I will recommend it to friends and family if they are in the market for a new rain jacket.
