Great 350W powered speakers. Great sound, great power
Smiles all around. What a thumper!! A fabulous balanced xlr cable powered speakers. It sounds amazing. It's relatively compact, relatively light weight to carry and that's about the only light weight thing about this speaker. It's very simple to use. Volume gain for speaker and Mic and that's you're lot. If youre looking for something, punchy 350w, quick and ready to go and remember it's a xlr cable required, then this is a great option and great value for money. I recently played at a pub, for a 70th birthday party and this was absolutely perfect

Decent sound and build at a competitive price.
Well built but relatively lightweight. Go reasonably loud [but 350W is peak value, not rms]. Need a sub if using them for full range music, but fine for background music and speech in a small hall, garden or pub PA perhaps. Cannot comment on durability at the moment. Lack of Bluetooth/usb connectivity and tone controls may deter some, but the single xlr input and xlr link output are adequate for my requirements and saved a bit of dosh on unwanted extras. Incidentally, the 408s are better, go louder and come with more facilities but are much heavier and more expensive. And would still need a sub for full range music. You pays your money....

Nice speakers, can't go wrong with Alto, but possibly a bit too small.
These seem nice speakers, very light and sound quality is good. Think perhaps the 10 inch ones would have been a better option, but mostly use for stage monitors and they do the job. Compared with the other 12 inch ones I have these are no match, but if you need small, light speakers with a bit of punch they do the job ok. Just a narrow directional spread of sound due to small size.

Small & mighty
Small yet powerful enough for small-medium venues

Great quality sound for live performance in large pubs, medium halls and most venues
I bought these to replace a 300 w KAM powered speaker system, mainly for the reduced weight and excellent price. My KAM system weighs a back breaking 18 kilos (mainly the sub woofer). I use two speakers from a mixer line output for performance of four piece band and also solo acoustic guitar / singer gigs and open mic nights. I also run background music through the system. I was frankly amazed at the quality of sound of these speakers. I was also amazed at the weight, they are light as a feather. My last experience of powered speakers, was two 15 inch 200 watt speakers which weighed 20 kilos each. I needed a large car to carry them and loading them onto stands was back breaking and dangerous work. I got rid of them basically because they were too big and too heavy. I was worried when I ordered these, as I thought they cant possibly give the Bass projection from 8 inch speakers, so I expected to need my powered sub woofer if they proved too toppy. Well I was wrong. The sound quality is frankly amazing and I am glad I didn't go for the heavier 10 inch models. I usually play pubs and small halls, and these were ideal for this purpose and pack away in the boot of my car. If I ever play a rock stadium I will use my sub woofer, but I doubt I will ever need too. At my first gig two people asked what they were and how they could get some. Match to a mixer desk and you have an excellent, light weight, high quality, PA for almost any pub or medium size venue. Add a powered sub woofer and you can do anything. For the price they are simply the best (thanks Tina).

Sounds good, and is solidly made.
Sounds good, and is solidly made. Claimed power output is absurd - it only consumes 150 watts, so even with class D efficiency, it can't be putting out more that 90% of that. Loud enough for what I want it for (vocal monitor)

Good for certain use cases but if quality is important for you I would say buy something else.
Is it good for the price - it may be. Unfortunatelly I own yamaha dbr's and could not stand drop in quality so returned. As monitors, for garden parties they may be an ideal choice.

I bought a pair of these for use as a part of an easily transportable small PA system for when I perform in my semi-acoustic duo. Coupled with a small mixer, in my case a Behringer X1222USB, I am more than happy with their performance. I chose Alto because the rock covers band I play in uses Alto TS410s as monitors and they are both tough and effective. The TX range is much less powerful, of course, and has only basic connectivity. That said complexity is not something necessary for my requirements. The quoted maximum SPL is 113db which may seem a bit weak compared to some other 8 inch powered speakers close to this price, but peak SPL figures can be misleading and don’t tell you anything about the way in which a speaker handles high volumes. I have tested these speakers at maximum volume and fleetingly recorded an SPL of 111db. At sensible small venue volumes, mid to high 90s db they perform very well, having a very balanced clear tone and wide dispersion. In short very much recommended for use as a small venue PA for acoustic or semi-acoustic performance. They do exactly what I wanted.

I've been using a QSC CP-8 for last 5 years with my duo. We use a single CP-8 high and behind for two mics, two guitars, and bass guitar. It works great and can cover large outdoors gigs. For the last 3 years I've been playing electric into a modeler while my partner plays acoustic guitar or bass. My acoustic guitar is currently retired. But with a modeler in my gig bag (usually a Spark Go these days, but I also have a UA Dream 65), I thought it would be nice to have something lighter for informal jams that could keep up with a drummer. At 25% the price and nearly half the weight of my CP-8 the TX308 seemed like a good solution. Its only shortcoming is I need a 1/4" female to XLR male adapter. Like the CP-8 you need to turn the bass down on your modeler if the speaker is placed on the floor. They are both voiced to be up on a pole. For music listening the CP-8 is no doubt capable of more volume. I did stress test the TX308 with bass guitar and it did not buzz or have any other issue. I'm impressed given the light weight and low cost. The overall build quality of the TX308 looks quite good to my retired electrical engineer's eye. If you want to run either speaker from a battery power station, they both draw about 5 watts running their DSP with no sound and are deafening loud at 10-15 watts of power from the wall socket. BTW, the Positive Grid Spark amps don't like having left and right (tip and ring) shorted together on their headphone output on the way to your powered speaker (sounds bad regardless of how you configure the output with the app: stereo or mono). A resistive summing cable is a bullet proof solution into a female 1/4" which might be TS, TRS stereo, or TRS balanced (3.5mm TRS stereo male with ~1K Ohm summing resistors to 1/4" TS mono). One other small, good thing to report is the handle molded into the TX308 case does not have any sharp edges. One of the nice things about the CP-8 is a great handle which I think matters compared to the sharp-edged molded handle in for example, the Yamaha DBR10. Another more expensive option, the Behringer B208D has no handle at all. If you're looking to travel light and make one trip from the car this stuff matters.
