Add some extra protection
Rated for 65lbs. Had a 50lb bike on. The weld broke and the bike dragged on the highway until another call pulled up and told us. $120 to fix the rack. $150 to fix the bike. Would have been better off buying a higher quality rack or using straps to hold it still. Believe the problem was slight jostling wore things down. But only did about 7 trips before it failed. While it worked, it was most awesome - though heavy/bulky.

Excellent for the price (could use one upgrade)
Very easy to assemble. I did put the front tire mounts on backwards but that was my issue. Very secure, put my bike on and shook the hell out of it, nothing loosened up, good to go. Did a trip of a couple hundred miles on highways, side streets, and dirt roads. Bike never moved.I only wish the tire holding unit had its own locks. The cable is nice but can easily be cut. A key lock in the ratcheting arms would be worth another 100 bucks to me.That said, I'm confidant my expensive bike is secure for transport on this rack.

Broke and nearly lost our $3k ebikes
BUYER BEWARE!!! We loved this bike rack UNTIL, it BROKE and we almost lost our new $3k ebikes. We paid $399 for this bike rack, and now (8 months later), we see that it is priced for $99. Although that is a cheap price, BE VERY CAUTiOUS if you have an expensive bike. The good is that it is easy to load/unload the bikes and clamp the bikes down for hauling on this bike rack. However, the first problem we had with this bike rack is that the Zip tie like straps that secure the back tires to the platform are TOO SHORT to get a hold on to pull tightly for securing the back tire. We have to use separate Velcro straps to secure the back tires. Then, the WELD ON THE CLAMPING ARM BROKE, causing the bike to lay over and nearly fall off the rack while we were traveling down the road. We've had the bike rack for less than 8 months, used it less than 8 times, and always traveled with it down paved roads. It was not abused in any way. Trying now to get in touch with someone to see about getting replacement parts to put a new front tire arm to clamp the front tire down for the bike in the rear. we are now somewhat afraid to travel with our expensive ebikes on this rack. BEWARE, I would order from a more reputable bike carrier.

Excellent Service, Great for E-Bikes/ Lock a little troublesome,
Vehicle: Jeep RubiconBikes: Schwim XL e-Bike, Nishiki L e-BikeEdit: Give star customer service. If you need anything, use the Amazon platform to contact the seller. We had trouble with one of the securing arms and the company provided a replacement.PROS: No support bar needed for my step through bike. Heavy bikes are very secure on the rack. I've already driven 400 miles down interstates at 80+mph and no worries. Easy to load and unload, including for women. Our bikes are pretty heavy and you can load them alone, although it is easier with 2 people. The lock is secure. The rack is easy to lift up and down. I can get the rack on and off the hitch myself (female) but it is not easy (see con #2).CONS:1. On a Rubicon, you cannot open the back gate while this is installed.2. The hitch stabilizer needs to be in just the right spot to get the pin/bolt in place. I drew a line on the bar with a gold sharpie so that we could find the spot easily.3. The lock capsule that goes over the pin...this is where our trouble has been because of the way our hitch is setup. I don't know if all hitches are the same but we couldn't rotate the lock capsule far enough to get the key in so we melted the small black nipple off the end. That worked great. Then I made the error of putting the lock toward the back of the hitch therefore making it impossible to get the key in again. The size of the capsule made it impossible to spin it all the way around to have the key hole facing outward. My handy husband then used a grinder to cut the back third of it off. We were worried it would render it useless but it didn't impact the function at all. Now that we have mutilated the capsule, it works perfectly.Recap: I'd buy this again for stability and safe bikes without the need of the extra bar. I wish it was jeep friendly but I'm not sure there is even a way to do that. Tip - When you first connect the lock to the pin, be sure the keyhole will be accessible for you. If it's not, just heat up a knife and melt off the nipple on the end. Then always be sure the key hole faces outward or you'll need a grinder to cut the thing off!!

Failed in 7 months
The swival arm that holds the front tire in place broke. The inner weld cracked letting the inside bike move, leaning on the rear bike when driving down the road and leaning on the truck tailgate when braking. Poor engineering.I am waiting on a reply from Leader Accessories.

Best bike hauler for the money!
I've had this on the back of my Subaru outback for several months now. Most of the time it's had two bicycles on it. It's easy to load and unload the bikes and the bikes are not harmed or marred in any way with them loaded. Also I can open the hatchback of my Subaru easily by lowering the bikes while on the rack. The one downfall of this rack is the lock. The lock goes on the pin it goes through the receiver hitch and it's really at an odd angle to get the key into and out of it. If it were smaller and can rotate better around the panic would be better. Overall, this is a way better value than bike racks costing hundreds of dollars more.

Best value
For the function and use, you canโt beat the value. I docked a star because itโs relatively heavy but mostly because the lock arms remain free when not in use. This means when no bikes are in place, and you fold the rack up, the arms swing back and forth and i worry they might hit the car. Though it is not an issue yet.
