I'm a NICU nurse and I bought this for the sole purpose of using it as a vein finder. It's brighter than the $100 vein finder we have on our unit.

Just arrived. I researched little red lights, there are dozens of them, but this is the one I wanted. A dedicated red light and I field tested it tonight. Convenient small size. As an avid deer hunter I don't use a light when approaching my stand except very rarely on new moon and overcast and it is so dark you literally cannot "see your hand in front of your face". I walk in between 1/4 to 3/4 miles depending on my stand location and know how little it takes to spook pressured deer. A Red light does not spook wild game, not even coyotes. This powerful little light is just what I needed. The "click" is a little loud, but I will turn it on and off one time and palm it in my hand, since the zoom is easily operated with one hand. The light this little gizmo generates with a single AA battery is amazing, and if needed the zoom feature will light up objects 50 yards away or a bit further. Convenient small size and the clip is handy for clipping on my belt, or the inside of a shirt pocket (so the light doesn't fall out when I bend over). When they see it, all my hunting buddies will have to have one of these!

Use this to check on my patients at night. Scares them if I don’t warn them that they might see a red light. Works perfectly!

This is a great flashlight at a great price. I like the design.However, I was hoping it would be a good, cheap vein finder to bring with me to a doctor appointment at an office that doesn't have a vein finder since they're cheapskates, like most. I'm sick of people missing my veins...they literally have one job and it's not that hard -_-. One of the reviewers said she was a nurse and this worked well to show veins. I've used semi-expensive vein lights. This one doesn't work at all for that (not that it claims to). You need to hold it super far away to even kind of see the veins in your arm, which isn't practical. So don't get it for a vein finder.

I use this to help with hard sticks when doing blood draws or starting IV’s. A lot of my patients are swollen or have poor access from multiple sticks ( for example dialysis patients). This light has helped so much! It takes some practice but if you put it to the skin you can see the shadow of the vein below it. It’s saved me from having to ask others to help, especially during a busy shift (lol so always) when someone is not readily available with the ultrasound machine.

I'm very happy with this light. I wanted a simple red light for working astronomy events at a local park and this light fills the bill perfectly. It's great that it's just on or off, you don't have to mess with multiple buttons or cycle thru different modes; sometimes simple is better. So far it has worked perfectly with no problems.

I got this for my nocturnal visits to the bathroom to avoid stepping on one of the dogs in the dark. I was using a white LED flashlight previously, but was hoping the red one would keep from waking me up as much as the white light. The jury's still out on that, but this light is much brighter than expected, and really shows the way without lighting up the night with bright white light.
