Extremely Helpful
I was usually sceptical of most speed reading books. But this book is truly different. I liked emphasis is laid on comprehension, and not eye movements or blindly improving speed. The concepts in this book also encouraged to stay focused and be productive in my work and studies too

Great insights..
Great insights..reading for comprehension is the key take away followed by read in phrases along with visualization. Continue to look for what authors want to convey, to understand better. I liked the idea of preconceiving and then testfying as you move ahead utilizing the mental picture.Best part all exercises are of same length 1000 words easy to check progress..

Must read for serious readers.
I was so amazed by this book that I read it all on the go. Well researched and thoughtfully written but what is more important it is all practical stuff.

A good concept but....
the author gives a very good concept but it will be very difficult to implement. He gives demonstrations only on the fiction novels.... he didn’t show anything how to apply it to textbook materials and other non fiction articles. Some ideas can not be visualised, he mentioned something about conceptualising but that’s all .....

Very good
This book is really very good incompaired with the other speed reading book. I have purchased many speed reading books and also took many speed reading course. The main motto of these books and courses are to speed up the material not the comprehension. That's make the larner frustration later. So other taken courses and books are wastage of time and money to me except speed reading with right brain. So I am greatful to David Butler

Mythical claim of speed reading is broken in this book with logical & scientific methods
I went to other books and read online resources to increase my reading speed. Most of them are lie or unscientific which is captured by author David Butler very well. This is the last stop to increase your speed. Looks like author had dedicated his life for speed reading research. He has online resources which are free to use and also written two other books to practice till your speed is increased. Now I am starting his other two books Speed Reading Made Easy and 100 one minutes speed reading drill.

Useful, Thoughtful, Realistic (Instead of Hype)
I rarely write book reviews here, but will make an exception for this one. This book is not the usual "gimmicks of speed reading", which I've found over-promise & under-deliver - this book is anti-hype which I greatly appreciated. It's more of a thoughtful and interesting reassessment of what reading is, and why we do it, and some of our misunderstandings which can get in our way.The idea of conceptualizing ideas, and focusing on comprehension first MIGHT seem obvious in a way, and yet it's not (or there wouldn't be so many books & courses on speed reading). It's a concept I'm still learning to put into practice, and will probably continually work on but again, in the spirit of the book, "instant success" is not promised so that seems reasonable. No, I'm not an "expert speed reader" at the end but I am approaching reading differently the last few weeks.I'm comprehending more & enjoying it more - understanding more at first read instead of constant regressions & rereading (my reading achilles heel). So even if nothing else improves, this is well worth the time & energy I put into the book.Other speed reading books I've read have left me feeling worse at the end; this is an exception.I feel like I understand reading in terms of how it happens & am more in awe that we have this ability as opposed to feeling compelled to measure my "stats".I generally appreciate the respectful & clear tone of the book, and the free online practice tools + phrase reader are an added bonus.I really recommend this book & think it's worthwhile!

All this time mistaking ideas with letters
Center of the whole book: comprehension and read ideas not words. These two aspects really made a change for good in my way of reading a book. Used to get really tired after reading 3 pages, now I know why: no imagination while reading just decoding.. that is boring. Reading ideas is so much powerful and enjoyable. Thumbs up for this book

I hoped for somthing more
I liked the ideas shared by the author.Nevertheless, I think that everything could have been done in one-third of the pages.- too many times the author speaks ill of other methods: I got it the first time- Exercises were all the same for each chapter.Again, good ideas and I think the proposed method can work better than others, but the book itself can be better
