Good product, flimsy applicator.
The product is advertised as coming with a metal applicator, but doesn't include any pictures of it. The only reason I was interested in this was after seeing how effective both the tubing and the applicator were at crafting a really good bandage at the hospital after I tested the yielding ability of skin to a sharp blade. The skin lost.Anyways, the short version is this: the 7/8" tubular bandage was great for making finger bandages, wat better than any boxed finger-tip bandaid. The applicator that came with it was technically capable of applying the bandage but it was not ideal like the caged one at the hospital; It made due until I replaced it with the hospital grade applicator. The tubular bandage was neatly rolled in the box and the included applicator was also tucked inside. Pictured is the included applicator, and the resultant bandage made with it (and some elastic tubular gauze, #1).

A must for finger injuries
I recently sustained 2nd degree burns to both of my hands. The fingers and the backs of my hands caught the brunt of the damage and I required hospitalization. After the initial cleaning and debriding, both hands were extensively bandaged for the initial stage of healing. As healing progressed, the large gauze wraps became less necessary but the open spots still needed to be covered and protected and as the new skin that was forming had to be protected as it was sensitive and tender.Once healing reached that point, I was at home and taking care of them myself. The big bulky bandages were replaced with lighter levels of wrapped gauze covering the "bad" areas and held on with tape. This method was terrible as the bandages would pull or slide off during the course of the day as I would routinely flex my hands and fingers to keep my range of motion.I had become familiar with flexible tubular bandages while receiving IV antibiotics for a staph infection via a PICC line several years prior and knew they this type of dressing was used to cover the PICC and keep everything in place. A search found these finger sized variety which I felt would serve the purpose of holding the bandages in place while providing an additional layer of protection from accidental bumps or scrapes. When they arrived, I found they worked as I expected. I had to stretch them out a bit to get them over the layer of gauze onto the finger and it took a few try's to get the technique down but after that, it was simple.I tried a couple different ways to put them on and found that the suggested method of rolling them on like a condom, sometimes created more pressure on my finger than I felt comfortable with, this was particularly true at the base of the finger where I experienced something like a tourniquet effect. So, I would simply unroll them, stretch them out a bit and carefully slide them onto the finger and over the bandages. As they are longer than my finger, I would fold the loose end back over the finger and roll it back to the base of the finger giving two layers of protection. These are non-sterile so I would always place a sterile bandage over the actual injury and simply use these to keep the bandage securely in place. The nurses at would care, where I went once a week, were not familiar with them. Hopefully they'll get some in stock for other patients who may benefit from them. They're also useful for simply holding bandages or Band-Aids in place, especially on the finger joints where repeated movement of the finger can cause the bandage to move. This type of bandage is available in a variety of sizes/diameters, some of which come in a roll intended to be cut to length for a specific appendage. To me, they're now an important part of my first aid kits and I still use them to cover the fresh scar tissue on my fingers as all the open wounds have healed. I will also saturate them with vitamin E oil to help reduce the stiffness of the scar tissue. It seems to be working so far.

Great for fingers
This tubing did not expand as wide as I thought it would. It is still a good product but for a smaller hand.

Easy to apply with the tool included
Really like it for the finger injuries. The metal piece mace putting it on very easy. Quite some length for the money.

My favorite little booboo cocoon
I bought this product after having an ingrown toenail removed at the podiatrist, and in my daze (after this slightly unexpected and traumatic experience) I watched her use some crazy tool that wrapped my toe in a little cocoon of gauze. When I got home I immediately purchased this because I needed something to keep my bandage in place and my wound dry/clean when I had to start wearing shoes again. As an added bonus, I also made the tube much thicker during the first few days of healing which saved me from a few deaths by stubbed toe.Honestly I don’t even remember if this came with instructions because if they did, they were useless if you’ve never used this product before. I had to find a tutorial video (search surgitube on Youtube and find the tutorial by user Infinity DIY!). Once I got the hang of it I was a pro.One package lasted me 2 weeks of twice-daily replacement and 1 week of replacing once daily (I still have a bunch left!)It is made for fingers, and I did have to really stretch open the metal tube to fit around my big toe, but it never broke or weakened during those 3 weeks.Great product for a great price. I’m not sure my toe would have healed without it as a little gauze under a bandage just doesn’t provide the protection this gauze cocoon does. If ever needed again, I would repurchase!

Part of my first aid kit.
Last year I cut a fingertip off and had to keep the wound covered while it grew back. This product was instrumental in keeping the gauze and other bandage material in place during the healing process.

Perfect for finger injuries.
I had a mishap with a table saw. This was a great product with early wound care. Will absolutely use again

Doctor recommended
Had toenail surgery, and this was recommended for over top of bandaid, to retain moisture in healing process. Worked very well with the assistive device included.
