Normally when you get a 3 die set you get a sizing/de priming die, Seating die, amd a crimp die. This set comes with a belling die instead and has the crimp built into the seating die. They are not clear about this. I hate seating and crimping in the same die. Seating and crimping in one procedure is not as accurate as having the the 2 procedures done separately.So I bought a Lee crimper. For the money I should have just bought a Lee set in the first place.

The Hornady Pistol .38-.357-.357 Mag II Three-Die set is an excellent way to produce high quality .38 special and .357 magnum rounds. These dies are well built, extremely precise/adjustable, and should last a very long time. Take your time setting them up correctly and you will be rewarded with high quality ammunition.If you're inexperienced at reloading, you will find the instructions a bit on the sparse side; however, if you have experience loading at least one other caliber, you'll probably be able to figure out. Newbies should consult additional resources online for guidance.To complement this set, I highly recommend Hornady's EXCELLENT bullet feeder die for .38/.357. Contrary to assumption, you do not need the expensive automatic bullet feeder upper unit. You can simply feed bullets into the bullet feeder die (approximately 10 will fit in the die at a time, and many more if you rig up a PVC feed tube like I did, which holds 30 bullets) and they will feed automatically by gravity alone as each case cycles through. It really speeds up reloading compared to setting each bullet in position by hand.In case you're wondering, my LnL AP press is set up as follows when I load .38/.357 rounds:1. resizer,2. powder drop,3. expander,4. bullet feeder,5. bullet seater/crimper.This three-die set includes the resizer, the expander, and the bullet seater/crimper. The latter die can be used EITHER to seat the bullet only OR to seat and crimp. I use it to seat and crimp in the same step, which works great and frees up a station for the bullet feeder die, which is worth its weight in gold!

Was not aware but this die set comes with a rounded and flat seating stem. The flat stem is great for cast flat pointed bullets.

Buy Hornady and buy them once !I bought theese for accuracy and they are as I have found to be the best. Amazon had them when I needed them tomorrow.!

Hornady dies are the best quality, and I have tried Lee and RCBS. Used them last night for the 20th time since receiving at Christmas as I shoot a lot of 38 special. These decap, size, bell, and seat bullets perfectly from 125 grain to 158 grain perfectly whether Round Nose, Hollow Point, Wad Cutter.

I've been an RCBS fan my entire life, but I have to admit that I like the Hornady handgun dies better. They are easy to set up and easy to use. Add on the micro adjuster and you've got one handy set-up.
