I loved reading from Ash’s point of view. She has a similar thought process to Chastity but she’s more awkward and paranoid. But I think Ash and Tanner share a weirdness and are perfect for each other. That cameo of Matt was so good and to learn a little bit of his future outside of the Empire High series. This book is extra spicy. I feel like Ash and Chastity always end up doing something crazy together, the shenanigans they get into. Nigel’s hatred for Chastity is hilarious, it makes me think of Tanner and Rob’s feud, all because she was asking about Matt. That cliffhanger though, I need book 2, I need to know what happens. Did they take Nigel too?

If your an Ivy Smoak fan u must read this masterpiece. This book had me laughing so hard, I could not stop. If you love a rom com full of suspense & mystery this book is for you.Spoilers below:This story follows Ash a spitfire true redhead in the city of New York following the divorce from her cheating ex that took every cent from her including her business. So she begins to start over trying new smoothie flavors while stalking the man of her dreams every Tuesday & Thursday. Her best friend Chasity is such a riot absolutely love her humor cant wait to see more what this crazy chick comes up with. On the day of Ash's divorce party a secret black invitation shows up..well it's not what Ash expected & it throws her in for the ride of her life. Where she actually meets Tanner after bumping a blueberry pie into him then later officially meeting her later that afternoon/evening during one of Ash's secret trips for the society. After that sh*t hits the fan. #horsefacts I absolutely loved seeing the returning characters Nigel & Matt & even James & Penny was even mentioned. So was the hunted series as a jab but hey us Smoaksters get it. If you have read her Empire High series featuring Matt then u will find out hes married & has been for 6 months Tanner revealing in his pov from his short novella that Matt found his soul mate. We are all hoping for a #mattlyn reunion, #soulmatesAfter beating around the Bush about his feelings & intentions towards Ash her & Chasity decide to bug Tanner's phone. They dont find out much which is seriously odd but they do hear a conversation saying his email & accounts & phones have been compromised Tanner mentions Dodo..but then so only smashes his phone. Ash confronts Tanner about some crazy accusations & shes admits that it was Chasity & her that bugged his phone boy Tanner was relieved. He was in fact happy that it was her. But he still holds her @ arms length..one night after running into Matthew Caldwell she gets kidnapped after accepting another invite thru the society app. She soon finds out shes @ the exclusive sex club & they have her & Chasity help with the society awards onstage. Where a series of hilarious events unfold which brings Tanner into the rescue, well he was jealous, ahhhemm. Where afterwards Tanner finally confesses his true feelings for Ash that he basically loves her. Ash thinks that they are going to finally get their hea..well not so fast.They've been working on planning this epic party together that's held on his yacht with her favorite band & monkeys dressed up then things go wild well the monkeys do. After everything settles down which Tanner raised his voice & authority (making me think hes some sort of king or prince) the people & the monkeys listen even the 1 with a sword yes a sword. Funniest sh*t ever. I was dying of laughter one minute then the next I was like nooo WTF? Not again. After raising his voice & getting things settled he gets a burlap sack over his head & pulled off of the boat into a speed boat in the middle of the night. Ash is seriously disturbed but she dusts herself off to in search of the love of her life Tanner with a sword in her hand. Say what? Tanners been kidnapped, you've been warned. Not only that but thru out the whole book our poor Ash never gets some..I mean that poor girl no wonder why she has so much anxiety. I would have loved to see more sexy times with Ash & Tanner though..I'm hoping they make up for that in book 2. What an excellent book, of I could give this book more than 5stars I would. What a start to a series. I can.not.wait.for.more. well done Ivy once again!!!!

This book is so much better after reading Empire High Homecoming. U get to know Tanner so much in that book so reading this one next u get it alot more and its fun to see Tanner meet someone just as weird as him and fall in love.I also feel like he is much better when he interacts with the Untouchables. So heres hpping we get more of that.

You have to ask yourself "Do you really want to read an over 700 (SEVEN HUNDRED) PAGE chaotic cliffhanger? Well, do you?"I love Ivy Smoak's writing style, her characters, and plots, 99% of the time. Unfortunately, this is a 1% er fail for me! At a minimum, at least 60% of this book, plot, and characters are a major, major, major exception to my 99% approval! I'm with those who feel this book was probably twice as long as it needed to be or should have been, and the actual plot is about as convoluted as any bad book I've read in the last decade! (SPOILER ALERTS)There are too many plots happening at once and if the author can't stay on track with at least 2 of them, how can the reader be expected to follow. There is the Ryder/Tanner mystery of who is he and what he is. That should have been explained in the first 700 SEVEN HUNDRED PAGES. Then there is the annoying romance which is so not a romance, just a lot of unnecessary confusion and chaos which makes absolutely no sense as presented. This story is not "hot" by any stretch of the imagination! Au contraire! It is a constant battle between the protagonists Raven/Ashley and Ryder/Tanner to have or not to have sex! No reason why it is "not to have" on Ryder's/Tanner's part, since we already know it has been hundreds in the previous year!. Add to that the characters of Ryder/Tanner and Raven/Ashley are each inconsistent and make for a confusing, frustrating, anger inducing read!One would presume that in over 700, SEVEN HUNDRED, pages, we would know why there is no "banging" between them; why Ryder/Tanner seems to have some kind of dissociative personality disorder or multiple personality disorder. Given he frequently claims "magic" is responsible for the frequent surprises he pulls off, one cannot help but consider it really is magic and that he is truly a Jinn with a real gold ancient container. Then well past the time we should have learned this or whatever he is, we are presented with some arcane explanation of why there is no hot hanky panky is because some arcane it, "DODO" is after him . . . and everyone is left hanging, nothing, NOTHING is ever resolved or ever answered in over 700, SEVEN HUNDRED PAGES! I AM ANGRY! I WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE YET ANOTHER BOOK TO GET THE STORY THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED IN THIS BOOK!Ashley's sister's disappearance! SERIOUSLY? Like there were not already sufficient plots and issues to resolve? This is not multifaceted it is CHAOS!Ashley and friends . . . so much to say, so little time and patience. There is Ashley, her friend Chastity (a more contradictive name was never given), and two other friends who are absolutely unnecessary and a waste of ink and space and reading time. These adult women, in the 28 years old range, are presented truly as a group of misfit teenaged-minded girls who should never have been become a character group, ever! It seemed like there was no logical functioning brain between them all. Chasity and Ashley were enough to bring on migraines and the need for a few Ciroc on the rocks with many Martini olives. Their interactions were annoying, especially Chasity's parts. She is more parasitic, jealous, idiotic, rude, self-centered, and selfish than a loving supportive friend! I despised her. She was not funny, she was hateful! I could not be paid enough to read her story "Girls Rules". My opinion is that it is so not worth writing AND apparently many of Ivy's readers feel the same. Like Oedipus, I would rather drive needles into my eyes than pay for the follow-up book in 2 or 3 years! I stop purchasing when authors start doing this kind of "buy more" insult" IVY, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?GET THE RAVEN/ASHLEY RYDER/TANNER BOOK OUT NOW! LEAVE THE CHASITY STORY FOR THE NEXT MILLENNIUM! READ THE REVIEWS! YOU MESSED UP BIG TIME WITH THIS ONE!

This author is a genius and knows exactly how to hook you. I’ve read every book(some more than once) and I cannot get enough. She is by far my favorite author! I recommend the hunted series first!!!

My goodness this was by far one of the funniest books I have red this month!!! I am definitely excited to read the second book!!

Ash is everything my brain is thinking and more. The fact that Ivy Smoak was able to articulate Ash's craziness so well makes for a hilarious read! This book is probably my favorite ever! February 2023 can't get here soon enough 🥰

I was very skeptical of this book, but honestly one of the funniest Ivy books!! Have already recommended to several friends, and whether they are into romance or not, I think they would all enjoy this book!!

I Love Ivy, her books so far have been amazing! I found her through the Hunted series and got hooked on the steamy romanticism and the narrative of her stories. I have gone so far through all of her series and books and was really expecting this to match what I have been reading so far but unfortunately it did not caught me like the other books!I am not saying that Ivy is not good, she is amazing but for me, this one did not meet my expectations ... sorry Ivy! I will still continue to read any work you bring up cause I think you are a great writer!Edit: I tried to re-read it just to see if I was misjudging it but no. Although I found some funny moments it still did not meet my expectations. I found the mention of the "incident" so many times on this book annoying, it was nice at the beginning but at some point it just felt like too much!Ash made me curious in EHM but now I just could not click with her at all ... it was just too much goofing that seemed just forced. :( I was really looking forward to this book and now feel like I wasted my time.In the other hand, the short #Tanner Novella was absolutely amazing! I think the book would have been better in the same tone the Nivella was written!

Absolutely loved this book, can’t wait for the second part. Ivy is amazing with her books! Ash is hilarious I love her character. It’s a must read if you want a good laugh! #5stars

I just love ivy smoaks books. They just get better wthe more she writes. I absolutely am always just waiting for the next ones and I tell everyone to read them. I am totally the English version of Ash lol.. I also really like chastity 8 feel everyone has a best friend like her

Loved this book so much, I was laughing so much at Ash’s antics! What is Tanners secret ?? I need to know! Can’t wait for the next instalment of this!
