Can this be used in a pool for swimming laps?

I use it to swim laps instead of a regular facemask and snorkel (which I use so I don't have to keep my head above the water NOT so I can look around at the bottom of the pool!), but if I do swim too hard, I can't get enough air and have to stop every few laps to take the mask off to get some deep breaths. Is this the way all these masks work?

Does this mask have a drainage hole at the bottom?

I just received my mask. The band to attach-detach the snorkel looks thin. Are there replacements if this breaks?
