Q: How tall is the jar? The shelf I want to put it on has a clearance of 11.5 inches.

The jar started leaking and the glass broke. It is useless for hot liquids

Q: Can I put detergent in this with out it clogging the spout?

The spout is not very sturdy. I don’t think that would be a good idea. If it held up to the work, it would take a long time to dispense something thick.

Q: Could you use this to store like olive oil and dispense it?

I think it would work. It has a good lid and doesn't leak.
