As made popular originally by Gillian McKeith, these berries do resemble old raisins. And, they're certainly not as sweet. Sometimes the bigger bags, which don't sell much, contain dried out berries, making them worse. But they are healthy. The research on goji polysaccharides is impressive. They lower blood sugar (by improving blood sugar control over time, rather than in one go), boost the body's own antioxidant system (glutathione, catalase etc.), and enrich the retina and macular of the eye due to the high levels of zeaxanthin. Well worth having 14 grams a day, a common amount used in successful research. Even once or twice a week will help.

Taste
My first introduction to these berries and first taste I wondered whether I had made a mistake. Anyrate after a few helpings I quite like them and shall probably buy again.
