Sterling Seal 386-04-482X12X12X1 Black EPDM Rubber NSF/ANSI 61 Gasket, 1/16", 12" x 12"

This 1/16" EPDM rubber material was perfect for making a gasket for the brake master cylinder on my 1974 Saab Sonett. EPDM is one of the only materials that you can use to seal brake fluid. This master cylinder has a stamped cover held on by 6 1/4" bolts. It is located on the very bottom of the firewall and is supplied with fluid through a hose from a reservoir over a foot higher. My cover was deformed and the gasket supplied with the rebuild kit was quite hard and not resilient. The EPDM that I used had a perfect resilience and squashed down perfectly to fit itself to the imperfect cover. This master cylinder is unavailable new and a few people sell rebuilds for $1,000.00. I am very pleased.
