Keeps smell out. The inner zipper does take time to manage with the top zipper but I like that now because it makes me feel safer about people trying to open it. Lots of inside storage pockets too which I was surprised but happy about. I got the black smell proof mzipline backpack.

I can't accurately judge the durability due to it being a new bag. It is certainly built well. The bag is definitely odor proof, it looks great, and does the job.
