Moen96945 One-Inch Handle Extension for Posi-Temp Single Handle Tub and Shower Faucet, Chrome

Had a plumber do the valve rough in and then I put in a three piece surround. Didn’t realize everything was too far back until after it was wrestled into place. At that point it was either tear apart the drywall behind the valve, remove the surround, or give this a try. It worked like a charm and saved me a lot of time and hassle. Good for Moen to make something like this to bail out people like me! (The plumber who didn’t measure it right is another story though!)

I changed out a shower that had flat panel walls to one that had raised fiberglass walls 1.5" thick. With the extension it allowed me to keep the water control valve in the same location so I didn't have to re-plumb. The shower handle is still feels sturdy when turned so no concerns there. You will need some of your old parts from your handle. It gives you exactly one inch more of length than the normal parts. Saved me a lot of time! Thanks

Perfect for when your new walls are a little or a lot thicker than the original installation. So much easier than reinstalling faucet set. Comes with all the parts for various extensions. Easy solution for problem. Glad I searched for it.

Moen needs to supply an accurate technical drawing of their products so we can see if they will fit. I bought this by guesswork and it turned out to be wrong. Too short, so I ordered a different kit that also claims to create a 1" extension like this one. This one will have to be returned because the faucet keeps leaking when you push it off.

No local hardware store carried this item so I was at the mercy of Amazon and the extremely high price of this item. That being said this item worked perfectly for me (Moen Alder shower) as I needed to extend the handle as a result of new wall tile installation (no tile before). I was in no position to move the mixing valve in order to fix the issue, so this extension kit was a life saver.
