I ordered a pair and bottom has no bushings. Is it supposed to be this way?

Yes, there is no bushing at the bottom. It should be exactly the same as the unit you're taking off the car. It's just a screw hole.

Just making sure that this fits mazda 5 2009. Amazon says it does not but I know many have used it...

This fit my 2007. And I believe the parts/model are for 07-09. So I don't see why it wouldn't fit. Worst case scenario, it may be a little more or less compressed. I doubt the 2009 changes much from the 2007 of it isn't in length
