This children's story is beautiful! In every sense of the word! The gentle wording, the endearing art and the genuine spirit of this work is magical and beautiful. With just one sentence at the end and so much longing in the art that I was moved to almost a whisper when I read it to my little girl, a reluctant reader. To my surprise, at bedtime, she called her daddy to her to read him this story...it us that endearing, engaging and inspiring. True beauty always is! The story is interesting for a child who is starting to express their own feelings about things and developing a sense of empathy and validation, that what they think is important. The illustrations are just lovely.

Beautiful illustrations well written and having been a young child who went from having a pony to owning a horse...well, this is a must have for me in my Children's book library and one all our horse lovers in my family like to read....and well written enough for those who aren't crazy about horses will find a good read. It does tend to appeal a bit more to the little girls 5--8 years of age.

We have read this book a million times. My daughter has been a horse lover from birth. She loved this book. We started reading it when she was two. The pictures are beautiful. My daughter loved that there was a little girl riding a horse. It was also a gentle story for bedtime.

beautiful, beautiful art. bought this as a gift for two little girls who love to draw horses. The story is also a wonderful life lesson.A stunning example of how attitude in life makes such a difference. The girl in the story wants a pony more than anything but it just isn't possible. Even as she continues to ask, and to hope, she accepts the limitations (the cost, the care and the room a pony would take) and enjoys fantasy adventures with an imaginary pony.Sometimes dreaming and planning can be as much or more fun than the actual experience because the dream is without the effort and the expense of acquiring and maintaining.

I had this book as a little girl and wanted to get it again for my future kids. However I mistakenly ordered a paperback version when I wanted a copy of the hardback version I had. The part that made this book great was the foldout poster on the reverse side of the slip that went on the hardback copy. That was my mistake, however the book was damaged during shipping, but it was in working condition. Amazon gave me a refund without needing to return the book. So I’ll donate it and some little girl out there will love it!

This book took 5 wks to get here ! It was advertise as nearly new and was far from it . Cover was dirty and pen marks in the book. Story and pictures were lovely thank goodness I bought for my grandchildren as a bed time read and they enjoyed the book they don’t see the grubbiness of the book because they loved the story . Will not use the supplier ever again and would tell amazon customers not to bother either

This book is all about the pictures of horses, though the story is one my daughter loves too; she is 5 and reads this to herself all the time, but with long pauses between reading each page as she gazes at the horses dreamily. This book is a favourite now. English mums, like me, won't like the MOMs but my daughter thinks that's funny so I guess that's ok then.…!

My granddaughter adores this book and it is so easy to read for her. She is autistic and doesn’t easily engage with books but this really caught her imagination. Thank you!
