Really nice solid figure.
I did not know what to expect from this line, as I am only familiar with the 90's Trendmasters series from when I was a kid. S.H. Monsterarts 1954 Godzilla is a fantastic figure. He is heavy with thick plastic and nice articulation. Although his head is on a small ball joint so if you move it up or down too far, it will pop off pretty easy, so be careful, it's just meant to be like that because each section is highly detailed and 100% accurate to the movie. You will see people complain about him not having much color such as, on his nails and spines, but need I remind you that this is the 1954 version which had goofy eyes and was BLACK & WHITE. Come on people, seriously? And also he had no atomic blast effect, it was just his breathe. This figure is reasonably priced compared to the others in the Monster line and since it is the 1954 version, why not start with him. I hope Bandai brings back the old sculpts like Battra, Ghidorah, a real Gigan and not the 2004 one, and also a fair priced Biollante. I really hope Bandai also continues the Monster line to include the other Kaijus in the Godzilla universe. A Hedorah figure would be funny and nice to see!

Spot on recreation of the Creature Suit that started it all
This figure from SH Monsterarts is an awesome addition to their line of Cinema Kaiju figures. The figure is a near perfect recreation of the suit Haruo Nakajima used throughout his performance in the film Gojira (aka Godzilla King of the Monsters 1954). The figure is articulated from head to tail and features double hinge articulation at the elbows and knees that helps maximize on mobility. The sculpt work of artist Yuji Sakai, is spot on to every detail of the original suit. Each tooth in the jaws are individually sculpted, and the paint applications, while sparing, mimics the appearance of the creature suit in most photos and in the film. Making this one of the best Godzilla 1954 figures that I have seen thus far.

I decided to buy it and have been very surprised and pleased with the engineering
I bought and turned around and sold a couple of the previous S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla figures because I was mostly dissatisfied with issues with parts falling off the figures (esp the first Godzilla '64 figure) and have since ignored this series up til now. After seeing this figure, I decided to buy it and have been very surprised and pleased with the engineering, sculpt and paint job on this one. The head is a bit small in proportion to the figure but not like the G'64 sculpt. Although I guess SHM will never get past the issue of the big gap between the largest fins on the back on any Godzilla they do when you bend the figure forward at the waist, overall there's a good range of motion on all the joints without the figure looking too "segmented" like say, the G2000 figure does.I hope SHM does more of the 60's Godzilla suits as well as a 60's Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra in the near future.

A Solid Addition to the Monsterarts Line
Been following the Monsterarts line since it began and this is a solid addition to the line. The figure excels in capturing the essence and iconic look of the original Godzilla. The detail is amazing and it looks especially good from certain angles. Articulation here is fantastic and you can pose Godzilla any way you can imagine. My only gripes with the figure are the lazy eyes and how the head pops off. While the head popping off can likely be fixed with a hair dryer, the eyes cannot. The eyes are suit accurate, which I appreciate, but my Godzilla appears off when looking right at it. One eye is looking down and the other is right at you, so it makes Godzilla look like it has only one eye. Many reviewers have found different placement of the eyes, so your eyes may not be like mine. Overall, if you are a fan of the original design, this is a great addition to your collection.

Amazing
The Godzilla figure was what I expected. Excellent detail, nice paint application, and a decent amount of articulation.

Awesome!!!
This S.H. Monster Arts figure is a really cool figure- it earns five stars. The articulation on this figure is superb! The neck and head, especially, has a great range of articulation. This figure, however, does not come with Godzilla's fire, but I just used S.H. Monster Arts Godzilla 2014's blue fire for this figure. The eyes are not even though, but that is okay. This is a wonderful figure and I reccomend this figure to all S.H. Monster Arts collectors.

Well, Just When You Think They Can't Improve On Monster Art Works, BOOM!!
WHEN I FIRST PRE-ORDERED (MONSTERARTS GODZILLA 1954) IT WAS TO COMPLETE EACH ERA! TRUE I AM A 50+ YEAR OLD MAN WHO GREW UP IN THE 60's WATCHING EVERY DAI KAIJU MOVIE THAT CAME ALONG BUT THE 54 COSTUME WASN'T MY FAVORITE SUIT BUT,THE MAN IN A COSTUME CANNOT POSSIBLY BE COMPARED TO THIS LITTLE GUY. BANDAI S.H. ARE NOT MAKING THE SCULPT'S OF THE ACTOR BUT THE MONSTER ITSELF! WHAT THE ORIGINAL FILM MAKER'S DID NOT HAVE THE TECH OR FINANCES TO DO.HE IS AS TALL AS THE BIRTH ISLAND VERSION, QUITE TALLER THAN 64. AND MORE BULK AND CLEAN JOINT'S.YOU CAN PUT THIS GUY IN ANY POSITION. BEAUTIFULLY PAINTED IN BLACK WITH SLIGHT GREY HIGHLIGHTS.AND IF ANY OF YOU WERE CONCERED ABOUT BEADY , GOGGLE EYE'S REST ASSURED THE ARTIST PUT SPECIAL DETAIL IN MAKING THE EYE'S KEEP TRUE TO THE SUBJECT.ARTICULATION IS BETTER THAN ANY OF THE FIRST OFFERING'S. THERE IS NO ACCESSORRIES , BUT I DON'T CARE AND THERE IS NO OTHER MONSTER FOR SETTING A SCENE, GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN WAS A QUICKY RELEASE LATER IN 54, BUT WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT 54 GODZILLA WAS THE FIRST AND FOR THIS FINE QUALITY VERSION HE STANDS ALONE, AT THE TOP!

54er Godzilla für Stop-Motion-Filme!
Ich habe mir diese tolle Figur mit vielen Details für mein Hobby gekauft. Und zwar u.a.
