Very nice water bath canner!
I bought this because I needed a water bath canner with a flat bottom so I could use it on my glass top stove. It works like a charm! I love that the lid is glass, & it has a vent hole. It is a huge pot! It is solid, but it's not so heavy that I was scared about using it on the glass top stove. The jar lifter basket works perfectly also. It holds 12 half pints. I used it for my very first canning of jam. This would also be perfect for that huge pot of chili, beans, or spaghetti for those big family gatherings.

Works on my new glass top stove!
I love my new stainless steel canner! I purchased the canner to replace the old dark enamel canner I have used for 30 years. When I read the User Guide for my new glass top stove I knew I had to replace my old canner when I read that canner should be smooth on the bottom.I did some research on line and looked at several types of canners. Due to lots of people canning right now, the one I was going to order was out of stock. So, I spent more than I had planned and placed my order.I am so happy I did! It arrived sooner than scheduled. I love that my new canner has a glass top so I can actually see the water boiling, it's flat on the bottom and didn't break my the glass on my new stove. It's also bright and shiny and easy to clean.

Very nice
I have been canning for a very long time and I have to say that this is the best water bath canner I have ever used. It is a little taller than the others which means a lot because no water splashes out while processing. The lid is vented so no water spurting while processing. It has a heavier bottom than the average canner so that means it takes a bit longer for the water to boil, not a problem at all. The pot had a small dent at the bottom on the side when I unboxed it, but my husband looked at it and he said it would be fine to use. I have used it several times now and it is wonderful. In fact I will be ordering another one to have as a back up, just in case.

Outstanding canning pot
I have enjoyed canning for over 30 years. I have always used what my mother and I used which was a Granite Ware type pot. It is a very good choice as well, however, I have had to replace that pot twice over the 30 years due to our hard water. This stainless steel pot should outlast the hard water much more than the old pot.The bigger size allowed me to can more at one time. All home canners can relate to being able to do more at one time instead of having to live in the kitchen all day into the night. It is a delightful choice and would recommend it to any and all home canners. It's easy to clean up and with a lid easy to store. Anyone wanting to start or are a long-time home canner like myself you will not be disappointed in making this pot your choice.

Lid is not shatter resistant.
I loved this canner when I first got it. It was large enough to hold 10 pints. The base is nice and heavy, It heats evenly. I was happy with it until today when I picked up the lid from the dish drainer and it shattered in my hand! It didn't even touch anything! It shattered into piles of glass shards. Fortunately, I didn't get cut, but I found tiny pieces in a pot full of carrots I was preparing to can on the stove 3 feet away! I would love to resolve this issue, because I've owned this for 10 weeks and liked it so much until now. Update: I was able to contact the seller, and they are resolving the issue by sending me a new lid. I hope it works better than the last one, because I really liked this canner. Further update, April 2024: This time I dropped the lid on a concrete floor, and it broke. I contacted the seller via phone and he led me to their website McSunley.com, (this is not the site from the Amazon link) I found replacement parts are available for a reasonable price. The person I talked to on the phone was very helpful and pleasant. I am thrilled, because I love this canner. I have had several canners throughout my lifetime. This one is by far the best. I have changed my rating to 4 stars, because the lid does break. The first lid was a poor manufacture, but they replaced it freely. The second one was my mistake, and I replaced it. I recommend this canner, just treat the lid like the glass it is.

Works as expected
I bought this to use with my glass top stove. Living in an apartment means I don't have a choice in the type of cooktop, so while canning on a glass top stove is not ideal, it is possible. This canner is quite large. I have only used it once to can peaches in pint jars. It takes a lot of water to fill up and is quite heavy when full. Since I was using s glass top stove, it took an incredibly long time to come up to boiling point, but that is to be expected. The rack is probably my favorite part, but it is also a frustration point. The handles collapse inward when you lower the jars down. It would be nice to have some type of hool to retrieve them from the water. I had to get creative to get it lifted back out. Also, be sure to balance your jars carefully on the rack when you are starting to load it. If it gets off balance, it will tip to the side and drop the jar into the canner. I started by putting one in the center, then one in the center of each handle, and then filled in the rest. It seemed to work all right that way.

Label very crazy and understand this pot is huge
Seems very sturdy label huge and stuck all over. Got very fast customer service response use vegetable oil. Before that came I ha f already applied ton of dawn spray on dish grime release. Bottom line dawn plus old toothbrush completely fixedBut this is a huge pot of you have 30 inch apartment stove will be challenge. I need the same right front burner for cooking jams only one place I can use as canner.
