Such a beautiful novel

The raw nature of its characters lends a very realistic and engaging presence in the book.Sheer pleasure to read.

Love and misery and two sides of the same coin: passion. Wuthering heights by Emily Bronte, a nineteenth century masterpiece, portrays an immaculately immense passion and unconditional love as well as the misery that befalls with the backdrop of loss articulated sobsubtly that one can not help falling for it. The grim, passionate characters with the setting of the moors are so compellingly indulging that it churns out to be a well remembered and rejoiced classic.

This purchase was a gift. The review is about the book, not the story.The description by the seller was scanty, but those in the review showed it to be a good buy. I am glad I bought it. The book came in sturdy packaging to prevent damages. The pages were of an 'old type texture' with weathered edges that are quite beautiful and fitting, given the era of the story. The book has a lovely timeline of the Bronte sisters. There is a glossary and a family tree of sorts to keep readers engaged and able to follow the story.The dust jacket is a good quality print and material. The print for the contents is similarly good.This is a good purchase. Great for a gift.

Es gibt zahlreiche, vereinfachte und gekürzte Versionen des Klassikers, doch diese ist die beste, die mir bislang untergekommen ist. Soweit möglich, behält Bingham den Originaltext bei und kürzt mehr, als sie verändert. Nur bei sehr altmodischen Ausdrücken wählt sie eine Variante, die gebräuchlicher, aber nicht zu modern klingt. Liest man diese Adaption - zum Beispiel als Englisch-Lernender - liest man einen Text, der wirklich sehr, sehr nah am "echten" Wuthering Heights ist und der auch inhaltlich keinerlei unnötige Veränderungen vornimmt.Die Bebilderung ist wie immer Geschmacksache. Was mich manchmal störte ist, dass die Bilder leider zu viel über die noch kommende Handlung verraten (und wer kann schon der Versuchung widerstehen, sich erst einmal alle Bilder anzusehen?)

English is a beautiful language and the author uses it exquisitely to tell her fascinating story...the very first lines of which are a breath of fresh air after the drab, utterly boring, almost discouraging introduction by Tess O'Toole.

Very good book, nice cover and good materials. The shipping was fast as well, so it is worth the money.
