Crystal Flor

Great kit, easy to use. I used jewelry wire to make more flowers . Pens hold plenty of liquid!

When I was a young girl (60's/70's) there was a toy to make similar flowers - but I never owned a set. One day I was thinking about that toy and went looking for it - and found this Crystal Flor set and ordered it as a gift to myself.I let it sit in my craft closet for just over a year - but finally pulled it out recently and WOW was this fun. All of the paints were just fine (I was afraid they might have dried out, but they were all good).I formed the wires (set includes molding shape for petals and molding shape for leaves), set the wires down into the little wells (I used painters tape to hold down the wires so that the paint would adhere fully) and then had fun designing the petals. As you can tell from the photos, solid color petals are not my thing. The paint comes out nice and thick, so it was a easy to design the petals without the paint blending all together. I also just free form twisted some of the wire to create the center of the flowers.I let them sit overnight and then carefully peeled them out of the wells the next day and then assembled.This set made this 60+ year old Grandma pretty happy. I'm pretty certain my grandchildren will enjoy it too!

these work great,...I put 2 pictures up...to show you how may, plus the 2 trays drying, I got out of the kit.tips:1. cover area/table with cling wrap....this works great.2. use 1 of the 2 petal wire molds to shape wire, these are perfect3. after you get wire shaped and go to stick it in the "right" size mold, TAPE (scotch tape) the stems to plastic ..RIGHT BELOW.. mold, this holds the wire that is in side mold to stay put. (refer to picture)4. then click (?) the wire (petal) down into mold.5. Do all the molds before you fill.6. you don't need to fill the mold all the way up....that's kinda a waste and the petals are more see-thur and I think look cooler.7. 12 hours is the drying time...8. scotch tape easily comes off Cling plastic... that's why use cling plastic under your molds.I didn't notice any major chemical smell. I haven't put the flowers together yet...I wanted to have all the petal done before I started that.Well it was fun doing this...and I thought worth the price.good luck and have fun.

One of my personal favorite crafts passing it over to my children. The problem was some of the paint bottles were opened and the paint dried out. We used the paint that wasn’t ruined and the kids loved it almost as much as I did

I was under the assumption that the flower petals were made by dipping the wire form of a flower petal into some type of liquid which would then try into a transparent colored petal. This was not the case. It only contains markers in which to color pieces of plastic which are shaped as flower petals. I purchased this kit thinking it was like the one I used years ago as a child. It definitely is NOT.

The instructions only had two lines in English and the pictures had items not included in the box and weren't informative enough. The wires wouldn't stay in the molds. It was very lengthy to do one flower at a time due to the drying time in between. We ran out of the paint for the some of the colors. We were VERY disappointed with the outcome. I do not recommend this product.
