Ok but don't need to be a genius to see where it's going
I hate, hate these serialised stories. I also don't care for the mafia novellas because they are all much of a muchness, very misogynistic and frequently an uncomfortable read. This was ok-ish but it's a real misery memoir and without giving anything away, you just know she's going to end up devastated and heartbroken, he's going to feel like a slug [good, because he is one] and just as it might get interesting, damn me, it's time to move onto the next book.I bought this one when it was on sale. It was rather heavy on the incontinence pads and and domestic strife. I'm a carer myself and I wouldn't have bothered had I known what a depressing read it would be. There was barely enough for a couple of good chapters and I wouldn't recommend buying it at full price. I briefly considered having a look at book 2 but decided against. This much misery I do not need. Please stop this annoying habit of passing off a couple of chapters as an entire book. It might be okay if you get it free with kindle unlimited but if each one costs £3.99 it works out expensive. It wasn't that great a read that I'd want to fork out over how ever many books there are in this series. My advice - don't waste your time

Good Read
This is a well written book. Giving a truly accurate account of what Marie experiences whilst caring for her mother. Made all the harder as her mother is quite hateful to her. She feels trapped, unloved and downtrodden, then she meets Matteo. She cannot believe that someone as handsome as him would be interested in her but he is. There is a rumour he is Mafia but she doesn't care. But is Matteo all that he seems to be or does he have an ulterior motive for seducing Marie? I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily leave this honest review.

Ok book
I have to admit the last part of the book was the most interesting. The author spent the entire book on the love / hate relationship of Mother & Daughter and I have to admit it was very repetitive regarding her Mother’s care.I really think this story could have been told in one book and it’s only the last part of the book from Matteo’s POV that will get me picking up the next book in this story.I have still given 3 stars as I hate to be too negative but I really have to admit I was very bored with the repetitive Ruby/Marie storyline it wasn’t needed for an entire book in my opinion.

Maria's dirty secret
I did like reading this book but then wondered what was actually going on,I also didn't realize it was a cliffhanger but honestly it was getting me a bit confused my heart just went out to poor Marie the way her mum spoke to her and thought no way was this a mafia story until I got to the end and realized the cliffhanger....but read a bit of the next book which I wasn't going to buy,but it looks quite good so I might get

Disappointing
The heroine has a dreary existence looking after her verbally, physically and mentally abusive, bedridden ailing mother. Unfortunately the story does drag somewhat and is quite depressing at times. Also it takes far too long for the hero to be involved in her life. Certainly didn't seem like a mafia novel until the final chapter. Sadly disappointed.

A lovely series
One of my favourite authors, I'm never disappointed with their work and I love it. This book was no exception. I have ever read a more heartfelt story of love and so perfectly entwined. It’s uplifting and soul destroying at the same time, it’s beautiful and sad and I'm sure it'll stay with me for a long time.It was an easy 5 stars from me.

Maria's Dirty Secret: Maria's Obsession (1)
Wow! Dam good book, so much happening, but that ending!!! It just stopped! Glad I have the 2 follow ups. Though a bit unsure if I will like them, going purely on the titles, we will see, very shortly, I'm hoping, but got feeling it will be the end of book 3, cheers for that Summer Cooper 😁

Ok
The jury is still out. A good story but I felt it was slow. That said it did lay the groundwork well, I'm just not sure for what? That means I'll have to read the next book.
