Easy install. As described. Not sure how long it will last

The old gasket on my BGE should have been replaced a few years ago. I put it off because $30+ for a piece of felt seems crazy. But the air leak on the BGE meant I was wasting a lot of charcoal since the old gasket no longer sealed tightly and put out the coals when I closed all the vents. I finally replaced the gasket and now the BGE works as it did when it was new. Overpriced or not, when you need a new gasket, you need it.This is also a bit of a PITA to install. The biggest issue is getting the grill surface clean enough for the gasket to stick. I watched a few vids and used acetone to clean the surface before applying the new gasket.

Less than2 weeks after install, it started coming off the lower half of the egg. I meticulously removed the old gasket and cleaned the residue off, a huge waste of time. This gasket is cheaper than the original BGE gasket, but it doesn’t come close to the quality of the BGE so it is a huge waste of money as well. Go with original and not this knock-off garbage.

It was time for a new seal on my BGE so I picked this up. Super easy to install. I didn't even have to super clean the surface and it sticks well. Seals great. One roll is enough for both surfaces on a Large BGE.

Having never replaced the gasket on my egg, I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this product was to install. And now NO more smoke/heat/moisture escaping...except when I want it to.
