Seasonal PIcnics, Breakfasts On-the-Go, Fresh and Delicious Packed Lunches, and Simple Wholesome Dinners
This book is amazing! The photography and food styling is simply gorgeous and makes me want to flip through the book on my down time for inspiration. The flavor combinations in these recipes are real winners and I love that there is a focus on breakfast and lunch (although I totally make the recipes for dinner too). I always have trouble figuring our what to eat for breakfast and this book has the best breakfast recipes for a lady on the go! Frozen yogurt, strawberry, and oat pops! Are you kidding me!? The green smoothie is a favorite for a delicious portable breakfast as well! I make smoothies all of the time, but I've never made one as tasty as when I followed this recipe. The bowls are great for pack-ability, but also wholesome and simple enough to prepare for a weeknight dinner- love it! Another great feature of the book is that it includes recipes for condiments like harissa for example, just to make and have around, and then it incorporates the harissa into a few different recipes. Brilliant! Harissa farro bowl is a must-try! And don't skip the treats! I made the strawberry-rhubarb pie just yesterday and it was the best pie I've ever had. No lie- especially with that whole wheat crust. I have grand plans for summer picnics thanks to this book, which includes entire picnic menus based on ingredients best show-cased for a particular season! I love putting things in jars and this book has totally upped my jarred lunch game. P.s. also check out Salad for Dinner by Jeanne Kelley, that book it just as good as this one!

Perfect lunch box meals
This cookbook is amazing! I live on a ranch and have to spend all summer packing lunchboxes for me and my husband, hence why I bought the cookbook. It is so nice to have something fresh, healthy, with wonderful flavor for lunches. My husband even likes all the sandwiches I have tried on him so far, and he's a "meat and potatoes guy." I like that a lot of the meals have eggs or cheese for protein, as I don't want to have meat at every meal. Therefore, the meals are appealing for a variety of eaters. At first glance, some of the ingredients are daunting, as I live in the middle of nowhere Nevada. However, I can either get everything at the grocery store I go to in town or get the ingredients delivered. I'm excited, as the summer comes, I will be able to get a lot of the ingredients from my garden.I have two small children who only want to eat plain chicken with plain broccoli every meal, so I make something different for my husband and me. The size of the meals in this cookbook are the perfect amount of food for a meal for the two of us. The kids (and my husband and I) love the sweets from the book too.Get the book, you won't be disappointed!

Creative Home Cooking to Go
The Portable Feast is the first book I’ve read by Jeanne Kelley and I’m already a fan. It’s rare to find a cookbook that is both doable and in pace with the times. We all buy more pre-prepared food than we’d ideally like to. It is undoubtedly less healthy and more expensive, but in a fast-moving, do-too-much society it suits our needs. Carryout food also produces an inordinate amount of waste in terms of packaging. These recipes encourage wholesome eating for people on the go, dishes we can make ahead and take to work or school, on an airplane or a picnic, without producing waste, because Kelley also explains how we can equip our kitchens with reusable containers and gives us the names of manufacturers, making it all easy. The recipes are easy to follow and when she lists ingredients that might not be available all over the country, she takes care to suggest substitutes. This is the perfect gift for millennials or for anybody who is health-conscious, a bit taste-adventurous, and on the move. No more need to buy carryout, nor to feel guilty about not cooking. You’ll tantalize your taste buds, be healthier, and pollute less.

Perfect for work lunches
I think this is my favorite Jeanne Kelley book yet. Since all the recipes are made to be portable and stand up to some time in transport, it's perfect for work lunch inspiration. A lot of the recipes are also easy to make ahead, and store well - another plus for those who like to prep a bunch of lunch food all at once to bring throughout the week.Today I brought a mix of the roasted carrots with kale and quinoa, and the roasted cauliflower with chickpeas and tomatoes, and it was delicious. A bunch of my coworkers commented on how good it looked, and asked for the recipes.

My new kitchen bible.
I am a huge fan of Blue Eggs and Yellow Tomatoes so was very excited for Jeanne Kelley's new book. The Portable Feast may be my new kitchen bible. The first recipe I made was the Rhubarb and Strawberry pie for a faculty picnic at a local farm. My colleagues were delighted, even those who thought they hated rhubarb loved it. There are so many new recipes I want to try and share with both my colleagues and family. I highly recommend this clever, interesting, friendly and beautiful cook book for anyone interested in cooking or beautiful food photography.
