A Wild Child's Guide to Endangered Animals

I needed a birthday gift for a five year old who I (assume) likes animals. I was drawn by the title and the cover art. His mom my end up liking this book more than the kid. The book is expansive and full of wonderful information -- this would be a great book for a parent and child to read together. The artwork is simply breathtaking -- all the illustrations are beautiful, vibrantly colored and clean. The fact that it gives suggestions on how to get involved and support endangered animals is amazing...a wonderful way to encourage children to be involved citizens that care about global issues.

This is a beautiful book with enchanting illustrations and great information about the animals profiled. My son absolutely loves it - and so do I!

My 12 year old daughter loves it. Read the entire book the day she received it and revisits it often.

This book is a gem. So much information, so fascinating. Clearly to be read a little at a time. So many details to learn, for adults and kids alike.

I AM SO PLEASED I have this book to review. It's such a beautiful book and one that I will treasure for years. It's a large hardback book 26 cm x32. The book is by Millie Marotta . The book is divided into sections, Oceans, deserts, wetlands, mountains, grasslands, freshwater, and forests. these basically cover everything on Earth. What the author does is focus on animals that are endangered and a map of the world at the back of the book shows the reader which country each animal, comes from.Each animal is represented in the book as one whole page to itself. On one side there will be an amazing drawing and on the other side, a bit of the animal's history to where they are now in terms of survival.It's a beautiful book . Even when you get to the section on oceans you have a double-page spread. The ocean double page is covered with fish, beautiful sea horses and some sea birds. There is also some information on for example oceans. This is the same for every different area of earth, So interesting.I bought this book for me to enjoy and browse and learn about animals and fish globally. Some of these creatures I have never heard of before. It is educational, inspiring and full of lovely drawings that capture the scene perfectly.This book is one to treasure for years to come.

I love this book. I love the artwork. Nowhere does it say it's a colouring book so I don't get how some people have thought it would be. I got it as I wanted some inspiration for colouring and shading in Millie's books and it is great for that. The extra information on each animal is wonderful too.
