LOVE THE COL-Erase . It's all about what sharpener you use. No breakage!
I think this brand has been far to criticized and to let you all know, Yes, they came unsharpened. I was glad they came this way. I know what sharpener to use & how to use it right & that makes all the difference! I got the 24 pack ( i think ) , I read up on these and ordered the 3 pack of KUM 104.03.01 & sharpened them all without a single problem! NO BREAKAFE, no loose leads. All centered cores & I like these BETTER than the newer Prisma colored premier pencils. The lead is stronger, and I got nice points and tried ALL out on a white piece of paper to color swatch and test all of them. If your steel blades ... the KUM sharpeners get dull.....of COURSE you can have issues. But no problems at all. I like the way they lay down color and I will be buying more to gift to family. Both the Prisma Col-Erase and will stick to the small but great KUM sharpeners. Go look up on you tube how to use these right & you will be happy with both. I agree the erasers they come with are sub- par for sure...but so what. The Suma erasers work well to erase the color if I need to do so. I have to wonder if competitors leave bad reviews as they are such a good deal! OR people do not know how to sharpen right or what sharpeners work best for this brand. Go slow and easy when sharpening and take time to care properly 4 storing and don't bang then around and drop alot...as then well..I don't know as I keep mine in a glass, so they don't roll off my table. AGAIN...NOT ONE PENCIL broke when I sharpened mine and I like them very much! ALSO. I got all of them...packed well and all the same length and no missing colors! So, if all those bad reviews were true...then the company heard toy all & are flying straight now! That was my experience.! These are what I would call student grade or hobby grade level....but I use to color-code my bibles and color and they work for that.

Eraseable, Great Quality, Doesn't Need Alot Of Pressure
I was very hesitant that these would erase well or be not visible enough for sketching but was pleasantly suprised!! They're not 100 percent eraseable but honestly trust me it'll not matter once the piece is done and you make sure to draw lightly before darkening details for those like me who prefer clean line art or drawings. - One con would be however is that the eraser kind of bleeds a bit of color around but it's only up close. You don't need to put so much pressure to draw which I've had issues with from a different brand. -con is that you have to erase each individually as they're not sharpened. So if you want a bit of color to your sketchbook I'd Definitely recommend this! Its such a great deal for how many colors there are. They also have different colors in bulk you can buy online here.

My favorite sketching pencils
These are hyped up, and for a good reason. They are pretty erasable for a colored pencil and blend perfectly. I use them to create a sketch under my watercolor paintings and makes a beautiful saturated undertone for the painting. I have had these for a few years and have not grown tired of them. Suitable for professionals, hobbyists, and children alike.

Decent pencils
These are really nice pencils. I use them for drawing and the pigmentation is excellent. They erase really well which is was both surprised and pleased with. My only complaints are they don't last because of constant sharpening and the leads seem to be broken inside, which is what contributes to the constant sharpening. Other than that, awesome

Perfect sketching/drafting pencils
I've had these for a few weeks now, and I must say these are very fun to sketch with. At first, I was put off by how hard the cores are, since I'm used to soft-cored colored pencils. I would color with ordinary prismacolors, but these are excellent for sketching (and inking, once you're done).

Great great great value for the price!
I've always loved Prismacolor colored pencils, but these col-erase pencils have honestly changed everything. They are not as soft as the regular Prismacolor colored pencils, so it is significantly easier to take notes and sketch with them. These are basically color coded pencils; the erasers that come attached to the barrels are fantastic and erases lines beautifully (unless you pressed down really hard when making the lines). Cons: -Like any wooden pencil, if you drop them on the floor, the lead inside may break into little segments, and it will be near-useless when trying to sharpen since the lead pieces will just fall right out. -As stated above, if you go over the same line or press down firmly onto your surface with these, they will leave a noticeable mark when you try to erase them. -They don't seem blend too nicely on top of each other, if that matters to you. -Lastly, if you are working on a detailed piece or are rendering with the col-erase pencils and are not careful about where you are positioning your hand, your work will smudge! The lead is harder than regular colored pencils but softer than, say, an HB pencil. Your hand(s) will be colorful if you do not watch out. Pros (that I have not already mentioned): -Convenient for note-taking, sketching, coloring, doing layouts, etc.. I love to take these around everywhere since I don't like committing to colored ink pens. -Will not destroy regular pencil sharpeners. This information was so important to me. -THESE ARE SO CHEAP ON AMAZON. I wish I'd bought my first set on here earlier, but I bought each color individually at my local art store for more than 1USD a piece. I'm definitely returning to Amazon to repurchase these if I run out.

Perfect for Sketching (no transfer!)
I had heard good things about these for sketches. Especially if you ink them in after. I find myself using them for larger/complicated illustrations. Using different colors to separate different things. Like foreground vs background. Or for complicated poses to make sense of things. I've used most of the colors and they all basically erase as good as any pencil. But unlike graphite they don't transfer in a sketch book. Huge win. They're also fine as colored pencils. What I mean is they're clearly not wax based so youre not likely to get a smooth really rendered image with them. The lead is quite hard. The colors are all really nice though. It's a happy/bright color range. They definitely function like normal hard pencils they just happen to have fun colors, which in my openion is perfect for sketching. And did I mention they don't transfer!!!

Very surprised!
I was looking for something in a colored pencil that would feel more like graphite. I'm not a huge fan of how colored pencils, even good ones, feel. Waxy. I read the reviews and thought these might work. I just got them today and have done a quick sketch and they are actually pretty cool. They feel very soft, not waxy at all but what is really different is how blendable they are. You can blend soft backgrounds with a tissue or q tip AND if you use a blending stump, you can actually move the color. I don't think they'd be good for coloring pet day but if you are looking to sketch? I think they are going to be great. I'm using them on Stillman and Burn Alpha paper and the combination is very good.
