I am a mobile detailer and this is one of the many great tools I have in my arsenal. If you do polishes this will definitely help you decide how or if you should proceed. I recently asked my client if he knew if the car has been polished or painted before which he said it hadn't. I took a full reading and came to the conclusion it in fact had been, so chances are the previous owner was trying to cover up some damages, because according to this device readings it had in fact been repainted on the classic spots like the hood, left fender and left front door and the A-pillar. With the included software I created a full reading and compiled a pdf to send to him to show my finding, visual aids over just explaining certain fact really look professional and convinced him that I wasn't the one "blowing smoke" to sell a service. Yes, there are other devices out there at a much lower price, and higher for that matter, but I ended up with this over cheap knock-off brands that may or may not read correctly, I feel fairly competent about this device and I really like that you can create an inspection protocol, normally devices with these features goes for almost thousand bucks or more so this was a no brainer to try out and I am very pleased with it, easy setup and fast readings. If you are a detailer, especially mobile, don't go cheap on this tool, no need to overdo it eather, this will give you enough information to take an educated decision on how or if you can proceed with a polish job without breaking the bank and you will look very professional when you show your client your findings.

Ich bin mit dem Lackschichtenmesser super zufrieden und kann diesen nur weiter empfehlen. Einzig das eine App benötigt wird ist ein Nachteil und ein Vorteil zugleich. Nachteilig ist, dass man immer das Smartphone dabei haben muss und so in einer Hand quasi immer das Smartphone hält und in der anderen das Gerät (empfinde ich meistens aber nicht so Störend). Vorteil durch die App es wird immer angezeigt ob es sich Vermutlich um eine Originale Lackschicht handelt oder ob die stelle nachlackiert wurde oder sogar gespachtelt (auch der Untergrund wird angezeigt Alu oder Stahl). Bei der Verwendung sollte man jedoch darauf achten, dass man das Gerät auch richtig an die zu messende Stelle hält ansonsten kommt es natürlich zu fehl Messungen. Die Verbindung mit dem Smartphone hat bei mir immer Problemlos funktioniert und klappt auch schnell. Mitgeliefert werden 4x AA Batterien (man benötigt zwei im Gerät also noch welche zu Ersatz), Kalibriertafeln eine Anleitung (auch auf Deutsch) und ein schöner Koffer mit Schaumstoffeinlage. Alles im allen kann ich das Gerät nur weiter empfehlen. Ich konnte damit schon einen reparierten Unfall an einem Fahrzeug feststellen. Als Hinweis noch an allen meiner Fahrzeugen wurde an bekannten nachlackierten stellen dies auch erkannt.

Very useful product. Good to know how much clearcoat you have to play with when polishing your car. Easy to set up, download the app and it sets it up for you. Comes with a nice case to keep it safe. Recommended.
