I use this base all the time with my trailer. It makes sure that if I am parked on a blacktop or concrete surface, it won't get marked up and on gravel or ground the jack stand won't sink into the ground. The only thing I am going to do to it is drill a small hole in each section to allow rainwater to drain.

Thankfully i haven't had an occasion to use and really hope it stays that way! The base looks and feels very solid and supportive. I have a Jeep Wrangler and don't do a lot of off roading but I felt that I still needed a solid jack base just in case because you still may need to pull off on a road shoulder to change a flat.

This is a great addition to my Hi-Lift clone. It just about doubles the distribution surface area. I like the synthetic material over steel for this purpose. The 5' jack is a beast by itself and doesn't need an anchor on the end too. Some of these bases are shaped aggressively to aid in traction. I prefer a smoother style to make getting it into the proper position easier. I may add a short length of cable to help pull it up out of the muck easier. Other that it works exactly as advertised, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs one.Oh, another positive, this is beefy enough to be used to level out your rig while camping.Arrived quick, packed great, not a single issue.

Having used a hi-lift jack for many years, I know one thing for sure: in soft ground with a heavy load, you absolutely NEED something under the foot of the jack. This platform works perfectly.Of course a piece of 2x6 works just as well, or a block ... but this thing is just as good and nice and light.Cleans up well and made to be indestructible.
