The Story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Both my daughters adore these books! I did extensive research to find biographies about worthy female remodels our young daughters (6 & 8 years old) could read & learn about. Unlike the “Who Is” series, these “Story of...biography book for new readers” introduces complicated history as non-threatening and accompanied by colorful illustrations. There’s a lovely balance between real facts and life experience. It was enlightening for my 6-year old to read and see how a young RBG juggled education, motherhood and caring for her ill husband. Both my girls can easily read these books independently. They have been glued to them and choose to read them instead of playing with toys. Each night they fall fast asleep with the book in their hands (literally). I hope more of these books are made to include more notable women especially in the fields of zoology, archeology, physics, mathematics, art, design, architecture, writing, film, sports and feminism.

Very recent biography. I loved the child friendly manner of writing and easy to follow structure. I also enjoyed the illustrations and the regular timelines of events. The little quiz, glossary and bibliography is a great feature of the book. This would be great for a research h project or for the classroom book area to encourage non-fiction reading.

My friend’s daughter is an avid reader and strong minded young lady. She loved the Ruth Ginsberg book I sent her and has since ordered more from this series and enjoyed them as well. Well written and role models we can appreciate.

Great book for young readers learning about our Female Supreme Court Justices and how they arrived. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a legend and many young girls are just learning what sacrifices and accomplishments she had made in a time when it was not acceptable or easy for women to do so. It’s very well put together and makes a great gift too.
