Very easy to drag, works well, a bit cheap on the handbrush
I really like this vacuum cleaner, which replaces a regular upright. The vacuum-cleaning experience is so much better: this unit is light, you can drag it easily across your floor, and best of all, it enables you to vacuum under your furniture with no effort! My wife was skeptical, she wanted to stick to the upright: now she loves it. The dust canister cleans up pretty easily, with 5 pieces to remove. The filters can be cleaned up relatively easily. This is a low-price unit. I love the low price, but it comes at the cost of the quality of the handbrush inserted over the hose. The synthetic brush is almost gone after 2 months of use.The other caveat is the suction: compared with our previous couple of uprights, the suction power of this unit is moderate. It does not remove dog hair from car carpets, for instance. It's good for tiles, hardwood floor, even short-fiber rugs. But not for shintzy fibers with "hooks" like car carpets.Lastly, better clean up your hose often if you have dogs and want to avoid the terrible smell that comes with decomposing hair and material that stay stuck inside the hose. We found that white vinegar would do that job perfectly. Hold the hose on both ends, and pour a good measure of white vinegar inside the hose. Shake well, flush abundantly with water. Repeat. Your hose is clean.Overall, we enjoy using this vacuum cleaner. For the price we paid for it, it's a good bargain.

Perfect for Apartment - Eureka Whirlwind Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner
Hello there - well, I just unpacked and used the vacuum. I can only speak about the space I live in which is a somewhat large two-bedroom with hardwood floors, a few wool area rugs and a flokati runner.Years ago I had a Sears Kenmore Magic Blue that I liked and have been looking for a replacement since. I think this is it. Overall, if you have an apartment, I recommend the Eureka Whirlwind Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner.PROS -*Suction is fantastic - and it is adjustable - it picks up on the hardwood and area rugs really well. I do not have pets but I do have long hair that is everywhere - e v e r y w h e r e.*Also used it to dust wood furniture, windowsills, baseboards and soft furniture, upholstery with the included, attached tool and brush.*I really like the way the hose, pole, extension and tool is all together. I guess the cord could be longer but it's fine for me.*The product is well-priced in my opinion. I was not about to spend hundreds of dollars because all of my friends who have, complain about their vacuums.*Small and easy to store in a closet. Lightweight. Pulls along from behind easily.CONS - I was on the fence about a bagless vacuum but I went with this bagless Eureka because I can wash the dust cup and filter. It is not as easy as it looks in photos to empty and I recommend gloves. In my opinion, anyone with allergies or lung issues, should use a bag model.I will update if anything changes -- thanks for reading :)

Henry is excellent on hard wood. Good on rugs and carpet.
My wife named the vacuum "Henry." Anyway, my wife has some back problems dating back to a traffic crash she was in several years ago as a passenger. Our current upright vacuum is too heavy and fell over on her while she was doing stairs. She wanted an "old style" vacuum that would "follow" her around like a puppy. (In reality, one pulls on the hose and the vacuum follows, mostly.) In any event, since the purchase, I've been doing all the vacuuming anyway...Our first floor is hardwood with several rugs. Our second floor is carpeted. The stairs are carpeted.Henry is excellent at picking up dust and dirt on on hardwood. At full suction, he will start to lift a rug. Fortunately, there's a release "valve" that lowers suction so Henry does well on rugs. But Henry (and I knew this before purchase) doesn't have a beater brush so he is limited.I ordered a second handheld portable for stairs and chairs (pet hair with kids not being great enforcers of "off the furniture"). But before I received the second vacuum, I used Henry on the stairs. They looked OK. But... A few days later, the portable vacuum arrived and I just used it on the stairs. It does have a beater brush. Anyway, that vacuum found an awful lot of beagle hair which means Henry and "Ol' stinky" (the old vacuum that a kid didn't realize wasn't a shop-vac...) missed a lot of hair. So, Henry is good but not great on carpet especially when it comes to beagle hair."Ol' stinky" is still doing the 2nd floor carpets so Henry hasn't been tried on that.I did observe a few drawbacks with Henry. I wish the cord was a few feet longer. (I'm used to a longer cord.) But we are still getting the job done. The other problem is that sometimes Henry tips over. It would help if he had some weight on the bottom but then that would make "him" heavier for people who want to carry it by the handle (as I did to vacuum the stairs).Overall, I'm very happy with Henry. He is getting the job done especially on hardwood.
