I do a lot of work on the road and I need a forward-facing car desk (vs a setup the straddles the front seats). The Wheeldesk is designed differently from most other steering wheel desks in that it's a single board with a slot that fits over the steering wheel.SHIP TIME - fast. A lot quicker than I expected given we're right in the middle of the COVID19 lockdown.SIZE - I purchased the 18.5" X 14.5" model for a 15.5 ASUS laptop. Note that, because the slot is cut into the board to allow for placement over the steering wheel, it uses up almost 25% of the board depth. It fits perfectly, with just enough room to the right for a mouse (but that means shifting the laptop about an in to the left). So, I would not recommend getting the smaller models, even for a smaller laptop, even though the seller specifically said the smaller model would fit my laptop.QUALITY - some of the reviews said this product has cheap materials. I would disagree - it is medium density particle board, but it seems quite durable and the board itself doesn't have any give or bounce (see below).DESIGN - overall, a clean, straightforward design. However...because the board hangs off the top of the steering wheel and is positioned at a 30 downward angle, it tends to pull on the steering wheel. So, there is a little bounce from the steering wheel. Other designs that hang off a steering wheel may not have this slight bounce, but I don't think they'd be as laterally stable.BOTTOM LIP - there's a 5/8" lip on the edge closest to the driver to keep the laptop from sliding off. Some reviews have complained that their laptops slide over the lip. The top of my keyboard is approx 1/2" above the desk surface and I see no indication that it would slide off. Plus, most laptops (at least mine) have good rubber pads on the bottom, so my laptop never even touches the lip. A mouse (or phone) does slide down to the lip and stays put.DESK / LIP JOINT - the lip appears to be glued to the main desk component. It seems solid enough - I'll monitor it to see how long it stays intact.ERGONOMICS - no matter which product you get it, this is not going to be the same as working at a real desk. But as I write this, it feels pretty comfortable. You adjust the steering wheel to get the right height, since there's no adjustment in a single board design. Also, because it tugs on the top of the steering wheel, I'm reluctant to rest my hands / wrists on either my laptop or the board - that almost completely eliminates any stability issues from the wheel (see above).OVERALL - I'm pleased with this product. It more than solves my work on the road problem. Will update if there is quality issue over time, but for now. it seems pretty solid. I'd recommend...

I needed a portable solution for my podcasting recording needs. This is perfect! I often like to record in my car - depending on your car and where you park, the acoustics can be very good. But, I also record in my home office, on location at an interviewees office or in my closet-to-sound-booth conversion. Works great in all places.I added GoPro mounts to the board so I could attach accessories and not worry about them falling off and making it easier to transport. Hold a microphone, recorder, cell phone, iPad Pro 12.9" and more easily and all organized. I also added flip down feet as risers in the back to give a bit of an angle when working on a desk.

The product was packaged well and delivery was quick. The product fit was perfect for my 2018 F-150 and I do not see anyway it could not fit any other steering wheel. The product measurements for a MacBook 15 inch was perfect and easily allowed for additional space to move around within the vehicle. The product leaned down on the steering wheel perfect for my vehicle and can easily be adjusted by lowering or raising the steering column if needed for any other vehicle. This product could easily be made if your a handyman and have the proper tools to create, however given the price and ease or ordering through Amazon, do yourself a favor and order one. When not in use, it can easily be removed and stored beneath your seat, or as I do, just throw it in the backseat. This product is a must have for a contractor or any occupation where your vehicle is used as a mobile office. I only wish I had thought about this product years ago and it would have allowed myself to complete reports (for my occupation) a lot faster for my clients. The product is well made and I do not see anyway it could break. I believe it will last for many years down the road. Not: I also purchased another similar product offered on Amazon that was made of plastic, which was cheaply made, too small and overpriced in comparison. I rated this four stars only because I believe nothing is worthy of a five star rating. Another reason for purchasing this product is because it was made in the USA!! Do yourself a favor and purchase this product as apposed to other similar products offered through Amazon.

Great quality! The largest size is a little big - so if you have 17” laptop you probably don’t NEED the biggest one? I’ll prob order the smaller size for the car and then actually use the larger one as a lap desk on the couch? LOL - which is cool, bc laptops can get hot and so I’ll def use the large one at home. The wood is really quality stuff so it’s a bit heavy - but nice quality. So - just know you need to think through the size (measure if possible) and that it’s a bit heavy (ie wood) but great quality and I’ll be ordering a smaller size.

It’s a great idea, if you work in the field in a job where you have to complete case notes or something each session/day. is it worth the 40/50 price tag?No. I don’t even believe that this is solid wood. It appears like it’s layered cheapy scrap.It should be priced somewhere around 20$If leftbin a hot car this seams like it will definitely fall apart or wilt.
